The gradual change of Warzone has been well-documented through the years, and numerous content creators have continuously commented on the steady decline in quality of CoD’s battle royale. However, the impending launch of MW3’s battle royale temporarily stopped these criticisms – that is, until streamers were finally able to get a closer look at it. Now, high-profile figures like TimTheTatMan are bashing CoD’s refreshed Warzone, with the popular FPS streamer calling it a mere “update.”

In a recent stream ahead of the Modern Warfare 3 release date, Timothy Betar, more popularly known as TimTheTatMan, shared his thoughts on the ‘improved‘ Warzone set to be introduced alongside the new series entry. During the video’s initial portion, Betar said: “Multiplayer, in my opinion, for Modern Warfare 3 actually looks really good.” “But Warzone,” he continued. “I just don’t understand. I don’t get it.”

He then added: “We had a gem with Verdansk. The way the game played, the gunplay, it was so good. I guess I was hoping with Warzone 3 that it would go back towards Verdansk.” “Call me crazy – Warzone 3 literally looks like an update. It’s like Warzone 2-and-a-half.” Betar finished. He would later note that the gunplay feels “a little better.” But most of the assets used, like the map and the color palette, look the same.

Unfortunately, with the updated MW3 Warzone being a mere implementation of MW3 features and mechanics in the battle royale, most player expectations have predictably not been met, as most within the community had been hoping for a complete overhaul instead of a few slight tweaks. Only time will tell if Activision listens to the player base’s requests, but for now, you’ll just have to make do with the hand you’ve been dealt.
