Ubisoft has announced that it is delaying the kickoff of the preseason for upcoming shooter XDefiant. As you might expect, the delay of the preseason also essentially means that the game itself is being pushed back, since the preseason would basically be the launch period of the game before it kicks off its first season.

Announced through a post on social media platform X, the delay is meant to help the development team working on XDefiant in polishing the game’s general experience, as well as make changes by taking player feedback into account.

The company hasn’t yet announced a proper release window for XDefiant yet, but the game was rumoured to have been slated for release towards the end of October. The rumour, which was reported by a number of outlets, came on the heels of the game being delayed from its original Summer 2023 release window.

Ubisoft has previously stated that it plans to support XDefiant “for a long time”. The game is under development for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. It is worth noting, however, that the PS4 and Xbox One versions will likely not be available at launch.
