Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 will see a number of ‘fan favourite’ maps coming to the game post launch, developers Sledgehammer Games has confirmed. The news, which came during the COD Next stream, was bundled in with a number of other huge announcements, including a new Warzone map and a number of gameplay changes, including the long-awaited reload cancel.
The fan favourite maps will join a number classic MW3 maps coming to the game on launch, which include the likes of Favela and High Rise. All 16 launch maps from the original Modern Warfare 2 (2009) will feature in the game at launch – complete with 12 new six-v-six maps. All have been “modernized with new modes and gameplay features”, according the official Call of Duty website.
During the stream, one of the hosts said the maps coming to the game would feature ‘different sizes and different locales’ – before confirming there would ‘one or two fan favourites’ in relation to six-v-six maps. There are no hints yet as to what these fan favourite maps will be.
