Microsoft and its gaming arm, Xbox, have received a lot of criticism this year due to a lack of first-party titles that the company used to be known for. However, it now seems that the developer has been keeping quiet as it develops new titles, with a new posting by an employee on LinkedIn giving insight into what Xbox is currently working on, including two licensed IP titles.
The post on LinkedIn comes from former Senior Business Development Manager at Microsoft, Kat Carson, who updated her resume on the website after working at the company for three years. According to her posting, she worked with the teams on various first-party Xbox titles, revealing some unannounced games.
According to Carson, there were a number of titles currently in development when she left in February 2023. According to her, there are five unannounced Xbox first-party games, one unannounced Game Pass title, and two unannounced licensed IP titles. This is a total of seven games that Xbox allegedly has in development if nothing has changed since Carson was employed there.
With the number of properties that Microsoft has in gaming, the licensed IP titles and other unannounced games could be any number of releases. It’s also unclear whether this accounts for companies like Double Fine and Bethesda, who release their own titles, but with the funding and help of their parent company Microsoft.
