During Sony’s recent State of Play presentation, Square Enix unveiled a new trailer for Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth and confirmed a February 2024 launch date for the highly anticipated action RPG. To go along with that announcement, the company has also provided updated sales figures for its predecessor, Final Fantasy 7 Remake.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake, which launched for the PS4 in April 2020, has now surpassed over 7 million units in worldwide shipments and digital sales. That accounts for its sales on PS4, as well as the sales of its expanded re-release, Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade, which is available on PS5 and PC (via Epic Games Store and Steam).

This is the first sales update Square Enix has provided for the action RPG since August 2020, at which point the game had shipped over 5 million copies worldwide, which means it has gone on to ship another couple of million units in the following three years.
