It’s really annoying that there is no mobile phone network on the train

Network coverage on Swiss trains is excellent, according to a new study.

Are you kidding me? Are you serious when you say that?

Commuters can tell you the exact opposite. Cell phone networks often go down or the internet becomes very slow. This is despite the phone showing a good connection.

The frustrating experience of the Watson family is here. Feel free to vent your frustrations in the comments!

“I'm actually very happy with the internet in Switzerland – apart from the train journey. I travel between Bern and Zurich and the route naturally has a lot of tunnels and phone calls on the train, which I had long ago given up on. Funny thing is, the internet goes up every day Fluctuating. Sometimes I can barely do anything in the morning because the internet slows down or breaks down every 3 minutes. But I notice something else very special: Every morning at 7 o'clock sharp, the train station in Bern. (Or at least in 2 The internet is completely down at station No. then nothing will work until we leave Bern.”

“I had almost no internet access on the Sunrise network on the S5 route from Rapperswil to Zurich. Either I was stuck in one of the many dead spots, or I couldn't get a connection despite the network being available. To me, it didn't Stand out, as Wired writes.”

“The radio silence between Cham and Rotecruz is a tragedy. The YouTube video you want to play at the end of the day still works fine without any problems. You lean back on the flat SBB seat and swivel The wheel comes up and you realize: you are in Cham and have to deal with your own thoughts, even if you continue to work in the train office, you will be forced to do five minutes of meditation every day on the Zurich-Lucerne route.”

«Wow – Salt’s cover is terrible! At Lyss where I used to work, reception was zero – I relied entirely on the office WiFi. Connections are also very weak on the train journey from Aarau to Bern. Then I quickly moved on to Wingo. “

Niklas Helbling

“There were several stages between Jonah and Wetzikan where the network either ran poorly or not at all. I also know that on the Waterville-St.Gallen route, at least in the past, there was no reception for almost the entire journey.
This is very annoying because you often use your phone on the train and almost everything is impossible without internet. “

Many Swiss people lack creativity when choosing their passwords. Much to their chagrin: According to one study, the 20 most common passwords were cracked in less than a second.

Online stores, social media, streaming services or email inboxes – every service you use on the internet requires an account and a password to protect it. Finally, important data such as address, phone number and especially payment information are stored in the account. It’s no wonder hackers are trying to get their hands on this sensitive data.
