It was a successful afternoon for Leverkusen and Xhaka. The defending champions can turn things around after an early loss to Heidenheim. Xhaka joined the scorers and then had a baby celebration. Borussia Dortmund have not dropped a point at home this season and are ahead of Freiburg.

Dortmund – Freiburg 4:0

Dortmund also won their sixth home game of the season with a 4-0 win over Freiburg with Greg Kerber returning to the squad after three games. In the Bundesliga, they have now taken 18 of their 19 points in front of their own fans.

The increasingly in-form Maximilian Bell and Felix Nmecha scored before the break, and Julian Brandt made it 3-0 with a free kick in the second half. It was a very painful game for Freiburg. In the second half, two Freiburg players left the field early due to red cards.

Leverkusen-Heidenheim 5:2

Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen were in more trouble than Dortmund in their 5-2 home win over Heidenheim as two defensive errors allowed an early 2-0 lead from the outside. Exequiel Palacios and Patrik Schick twice secured the reversal in the 52nd minute. The extremely efficient Schick completed his hat-trick at 4-2 before Granit Xhaka made it 5-2 with a beautiful shot from the edge of the penalty area.

The Switzerland captain showed visible signs of pregnancy as she celebrated her second goal of the season, scoring the second with an assist to make it 1-2.

Hoffenheim-Leipzig 4:3

RB Leipzig is currently eight points behind Bayern Munich. Marco Rose's side lost 3-4 to Hoffenheim after leading three times.

Goals from Adam Hlozek (82') and Jacob Bruun Larsen (87') from 2:3 to 4:3 put the hosts ahead of the head coach Christian Ilzer rewarded himself with a strong performance on his debut.

Stuttgart-Bochum 2-0

Surprisingly, Leonidas Stegiu made his Stuttgart debut from the start in the 2-0 home win over Bochum. The 22-year-old defender had to rest for several months and undergo some reconstruction work due to inflammation of the vertebrae in his back.

His last Bundesliga appearance was in mid-May. Stegiu successfully returned to the Bundesliga. The former St. Gallen player played at right back in the backcourt and assisted Chris Fairridge in the 1-0 win. Substitute Fabian Rieder set up Justin Diehl with his first touch to make it 2-0.
