Brighton – Manchester City 2:1

Guardiola suffered four consecutive defeats for the first time in his coaching career. The Spaniard's Manchester City lost 2-1 in the Premier League at Brighton on Saturday in the absence of Manuel Akanji.

Tottenham Hotspur in the Carabao Cup, Bournemouth in the Championship and Sporting Lisbon in the Champions League, along with Brighton, are City's other conquerors in the past ten days. Manchester City hasn't had such a losing streak since 2006. Guardiola has never lost more than three games in a row since taking charge of Barcelona in 2008.

At Brighton, City appeared to have ended their losing streak without Akanji, who spent 90 minutes on the bench. Erling Haaland's lead midway through the first half lasted until the 78th minute. Then, within five minutes, Joao Pedro and Matt O'Reilly turned the tables against an increasingly restless Citizens, who sorely missed their injured director and Ballon d'Or winner Rodri.

Real Madrid-Osasuna 4:0

Real Madrid made a comeback in the Spanish league with a 4-0 home win over Osasuna after the Champions League champions suffered recent losses to Barcelona and Milan at their own stadium.

The success in the 13th round, thanks to Vinicius Junior's hat-trick and others, came at a high price. Rodrygo, Edel Militao and Lucas Vazquez were injured in the first half. The club announced that Ed Militao has suffered a torn cruciate ligament.
