Premier League

Liverpool-Brighton 2:1

Liverpool Football Club is the only team in the top three to win and regain the lead in the table. The Red Army also lagged behind for a long time. Ferdi Kadioglu gave Brighton, coached by Swiss Fabian Hürzeler, the lead in the 14th minute. Two goals from Cody Gakpo and Mohamed Salah between the 69th and 72nd minutes turned the game in Liverpool's favour.

Bournemouth – Manchester City 2:1

The first defeat of the season – a 2-1 loss to Tottenham Hotspur in the last 16 of the Carabao Cup – was followed by City's second defeat. At Bournemouth, Manuel Akanji and his team unexpectedly lost 1-2. Also because Erling Haaland remained scoreless and missed a great chance in stoppage time. Antoine Semenho and Evan Nelson scored for the home side, while Manchester City's Josko Gvaldiol could only reduce the deficit in the closing stages.

Newcastle-Arsenal 1:0

The Gunners couldn't stop the negative trend. Arsenal lost 0-1 to Newcastle and remained winless in the Premier League for the third consecutive time. Fabian Schaal and the Magpies picked up three points for the first time in five league games. In the 12th minute, Alexander Isaac scored the decisive goal from a cross from Anthony Gordon to help the statistically inferior home team.

Bologna – Lecce 1:0

Bologna have three Swiss players in Remo Freuler, Dan Ndoye and the currently injured Michel Abisher, and their form seems to be improving. Vincenzo Italiano's side are currently on an eight-game unbeaten run in Serie A. Bologna celebrated a second consecutive win against Lecce thanks to a late goal from Riccardo Orsolini. That means last year's surprise team finished in the top half of the table after a weak start to the season.

Comment: Bologna has Ndoye and Freuler (to 82 years old), but no Abisher (injured).
