Potter fans, assemble! What should the new Harry Potter series do better than the movies? Here's what we recommend.
The new Harry Potter series has been announced for launch in 2026. Casting for the main characters is currently underway in England and Ireland. The series has huge potential to build on the success of the books and movies, as HP's fan base is still very large and active even after all these years.
The producers now have the opportunity to correct the “mistakes” in the movie and go into more detail into the book. According to preliminary reports, each season will cover one book.
Ever since it was announced that the remake was in development, fans have been discussing what Warner Bros. should do differently or better than the movie. We have some thoughts on this too.
Ginny needs to have a personality…

In the book, Ginny is shown to be smart, funny, and strong, but in the movie, these qualities are completely ignored. Her portrayal is very one-dimensional and doesn't contribute much to the plot. It seems that Ginny's only purpose is to be Harry's girlfriend.

…and the chemistry with Harry
Unfortunately, the romance isn't particularly convincing. Their interactions often look uncomfortable and seem unnatural.

Peeves must appear

Remus Lupin, Sirius Black (also known as the Marauder), and Severus Snape were the same age as Harry's parents. They died in their 20s, so Snape, Lupine and Black were supposed to be in their 30s in the movie – but they clearly weren't. Will these characters be brought to life again in the series?
