Shirley MacLaine mentions the famous Hollywood star who rejected her sexual offer

Shirley MacLaine named an iconic Hollywood star she offered to sleep with, but he rejected her advances.

The 90-year-old actress posted a caption titled The Wall of Life: Images and Stories of This Wonderful Life.

In its pages, she reveals her love life, which was filled with high-profile names, from Hollywood heartthrob Robert Mitchum to Soviet filmmaker Andrei Konchalovsky.

Her many affairs overlapped with her apparent marriage to businessman Steve Parker, who was her husband from 1952 until their divorce in 1984.

However, the book also presents a picture of Shirley as a plucky Hollywood star who, despite her best efforts, cannot win.

Under a photo with her, Morgan Freeman Shirley angrily wrote: “I proposed to him and he turned me down.”

Morgan made his Hollywood breakthrough in 1989 with several films, including the drama Driving Miss Daisy, for which he received an Oscar for Best Actor.

At that time he was already with his second wife, Myrna Colley-Lee, to whom he was married from 1984 until they divorced in 2010.

By 1989, Shirley had been a star for decades, first finding fame on Broadway and then beginning her film career in 1955 with the Alfred Hitchcock-directed black comedy The Trouble With Harry.

Although Morgan and Shirley have been Hollywood staples for more than 35 years and she is three years younger, they have never starred in a movie together.

During her 68-year marriage to Steve Parker, who had daughter Sachi, Shirley enjoyed flirtations with a variety of famous faces.

Soviet director Andrei Konchalovsky adapted Anton Chekhov's Uncle Vanya in his home country and went on to pursue a career in Hollywood.

She had an affair with Robert Mitchum, but “wasn't involved enough” with him to leave her husband, she wrote.

Also, a lot depended on the wedding we were staying at. But Mitchum is a very smart and very interesting guy, and he's married.

On the negative side, Shirley wrote that Robert “didn't have much of a sense of humor,” with whom she starred in 1962's Too for the Seesaw and 1964's What a Way to Go.

The journalist Pete Hamill was her other lover during her marriage to Andrew Peacock, leader of the Australian Liberal Party.

Shirley, however, said she saw no future with any of them except with Steve, who lived in Japan and had a lover there. 'One adventure is enough. And it's not misleading. Everyone was aware of the situation.'

Elsewhere in the book, Shirley says, presumably ironically, that she has slept with all the protagonists except Jack Lemmon and Jack Nicholson.

Jack Lemmon starred alongside Shirley in Billy Wilder's classic 1960 film, The Apartment, and later in the same director's 1963 musical comedy, Irma La Douce.

Shirley described him as “a lovely guy” but explained that their friendship was strictly platonic. People say she is “like a sister to me.”

Meanwhile, Jack Nicholson and Shirley married James L. in 1983. Brooks won the Oscar for his tearjerker Terms of Endearment.

'He always made me laugh. He was one of my favorite people,” Shirley wrote, remembering their relationship. 'I guess he wouldn't have been my type anyway. I laugh more.'

She also gushed about her co-star Nicolas Cage in the 1994 film Carding Des, but noted that they never had a sexual relationship.

'Oh, I love Nicholas. I love Nicholas. He asked me for advice about a star. “Yes, I liked him a lot, but he wasn't attracted to me,” she said.
