However, Sonia later responded to the claims and downplayed the drama when she made a joking appearance at Royal Randwick's Everest race day in Sydney.
Following the white and blue dress code, the Gold Loki winner accessorized her gold dress with a teal knit headband to complete her elegant ensemble.
Everest Race Day is billed as “the world's largest turf race” and sees 12 horses compete over 1,200 meters at Randwick Racecourse for a chance to win a $20 million prize pool.
Sonia's departure comes after she responded to claims that her future at Channel Seven could be up in the air.
Despite being a TV favorite and one of Seven's most in-demand stars, rumors emerged that after changes at the network that would no longer be the case.
However, a Seven spokesperson denied claims by the Daily Telegraph that the events had caused the star to fall out of favor with the network.
'You do things. This is the entire story and completely false. “Publishing this rumor is deliberately misleading,” the spokesperson said.
However, the publication said a “senior source” at Seven said Sonia was “vulnerable”, citing the $1.3 million contract.
