Asked at a news conference in Newcastle on Friday if he had been interviewed for the England job, Howe said: “No, I haven't.”

Howe reiterated his commitment to Newcastle and insisted he will be fully focused on winning games in the Premier League.
Asked if the FA had not contacted him, Howe said: “Of course not. I think England should do the right thing for them, it's just that they know the processes they went through and the decisions they made. I'm certainly not the person to analyze it.
“For me it's all about Newcastle, it's all about trying to win games and it's hard to try to do that when you're 100% focused.
“I will always be the same in my work. If you lose concentration, work becomes impossible. Under no circumstances will I allow that to happen.”

Howe calls Tuchel “one of the best coaches of all time”
Howe admits he prefers to see an Englishman manage the England team, but believes the FA have appointed one of the “best” foreign managers – former Chelsea boss Tuchel.
“Speaking of Thomas, I have a relationship with Thomas. “I was lucky enough to see him work at Chelsea when I was out of work,” Howe said.
“What a genius, what a great person, what a great coach. I stayed with him for two days and thought he was fascinating and excellent company. I wish him the best and I think it is a great meeting. I hope England leads. Many cups.
