Will Anderson is speaking out about the cheeky prank he pulled on late actor Heath Ledger on Thursday that sparked a surprising “feud” between them.
The comedian, 50, appeared with Noah's Fitzy and Whippa on Kate Ritchie and told the Ledger host about the incident in 2003 when he interviewed Triple J.
“Heath had done the Ned Kelly movie and he walked into our studio and it was like he was being held hostage,” Will began.
Will said Heath seemed disinterested throughout the interview, so he joked in an attempt to lighten the mood.
Unfortunately, Will's attempt to be funny with The Dark Knight Star doesn't go well.
I was about to do a one-word interview. I have never been less excited about doing a radio interview.
Since I was doing this serious actor talk about how I wanted to understand why Ned Kelly was so tortured, I thought I'd try to do a bit of comedy.
“I said, 'Do you think it's because he always has bad hair?'” Will joked.

However, Ledger did not appreciate Will's attempts at comedy, and Triple J soon told the breakfast show host as much.
Heath said to me, “That's not very funny, is it?” he says, so I say I never watched his 10 Things I Hate About You twice, dude! Which is a lie… because he had done it.
Will did not reveal whether he had reconciled with the late actor before his death in January 2008 from an accidental prescription drug overdose.
The 50-year-old comedian, who appeared in Noah's Fitzy and Whippa alongside Kate Ritchie, recounted the incident to the show's hosts when he interviewed Ledger on Triple J in 2003, shortly after the actor filmed the Ned Kelly film ( in the photo).
Will has irritated many celebrities throughout his career, and in 2022 he banned radio king Kyle Sandilands from appearing on his Willosophy podcast.
He launched Wilosophy in 2014 and has since become one of Australia's most popular podcasts, attracting major celebrity guests.
Will told news.com.au he declined to interview Sandilands because he has a policy of not inviting people on his show “with their own platforms and agenda”.
Will told the hosts that Heath seemed unsure throughout the interview, so he made a joke in an attempt to lighten the mood. Unfortunately, Will's attempt to be funny with The Dark Knight Star doesn't go well.
