Nicki Minaj with Anna Wintour's rare smile at Vogue Force of Fashion in New York

Nicki Minaj flashed a rare smile while attending Vogue global editorial director Anna Wintour's eighth annual event held at her office at One World Trade Center in Lower Manhattan on Wednesday.

During her 73 Questions with Vogue last November, the 41-year-old hip-hop star famously freestyled: 'I heard who they sent / I told you 10, you four / How to get Wintour / Hey Anna Wintour!'

Nicky (born Onika Maraj) showed off a little bit of leg in a navy blue turtleneck dress with a high hem, black stiletto heels and chrome ball bracelets.

Minaj wore a back-length black wig with a side part for the all-day industry event, with tickets ranging from $2k to $5k.

Outside the venue, the 12-time Grammy nominee showed off her star power in full force before devoted Barbs fans, who mobbed her at the entrance.

'Some different women in my life, at different times in my life, have told me: “When you reach a certain age, you will be very happy. Things that worry you, that you think about, that matter to you. – You no longer have that hope,” Minaj recalled on stage.

'And I said no. I was sweating the small stuff, so to speak. Of course, they were fine. They were fine. What happens when you realize who cares! Who cares about most of the things we care about or think about what someone says about us or what someone comments about us on the Internet.

'Do you understand that I have all these blessings in my life and I choose to focus on the people who don't like me? As you approach your 30s, 40s and 50s, as important ages, especially for women, your confidence grows and grows and grows.'

Born in Trinidad and raised in New York, the star explained how she began to realize over the decades what clothes suited her body best and what hair suited her face best.

'Start understanding yourself better. When you understand yourself better, you forgive yourself. You can love yourself and you can love flaws that you never loved before,” Nicky noted.

'Before I couldn't see my old photos. When I look at them now, I love them. I don't know what was going through my brain at that moment, but I let it go.

“I hope all the boys and girls around the world know that one day they will look at those photos they hate and realize, 'Oh my God, look how beautiful you are, look how beautiful I am.'” 'So do it now. I love you now, because that's how I feel right now.'
