Republican 'never Trump' political strategist Stuart Stevens says the former president's supporters will be aggressive at the ballot box in November.
Stevens, one of the masterminds of Mitt Romney's 2012 campaign who now advises The Lincoln Project, was responding to reports that 200,000 people had volunteered for the pro-Trump election campaign with an integrity organization called Protect the Vote.
He said MAGA fans are racist and will go to great lengths to disenfranchise black voters, including trying to “burn down” polling places.
“Look, this is 100% about race. Let's not pretend it's something else. It was like that from the beginning.
Stevens told MSNBC: “They want to win election night all the way to the inauguration. And if they manage to come in and violently disrupt these vote counting centers, how will states be able to certify the elections? You burned down the center of a county in Arizona. How does the governor certify this election? So what world are we in?

He added that most of the volunteers are trying to suppress the vote in cities with large numbers of black voters, such as Detroit, Philadelphia and Atlanta.
“Those who voted to not certify this election were essentially trying to disenfranchise millions of black voters. It's that simple.
Stevens believes that MAGA fans are angry that “they can no longer stop Black people from voting like they did in the 1960s with the same success, although they will try, given these electoral challenges.”
He believes that “we really need to anticipate” that Trump supporters will cause “mayhem” in the 2024 election.
Concerns about election integrity remain prominent among Trump fans, leading to a November battle between the former president and Kamala Harris.
According to our new survey, a majority of Pennsylvanians are confident that the reliability of their calculations will remain intact. However, some Trump voters are skeptical.
According to a new Daily Mail/JL Partners poll, 71 percent of voters agreed that Pennsylvania's elections would be “conducted in a fair and secure manner.”
Just 20 percent of all likely voters in the poll said the election would not be conducted in a free and fair manner. Only nine percent said they didn't know.

The poll was conducted October 5–8 among 800 Pennsylvania voters.
Thirty-five percent of Pennsylvania voters who plan to vote for Trump in 2024 believe the election will not be secure and fair, and 53 percent of them signaled trust in the system. Twelve percent said they didn't know.
The same number of people who voted for the former president in 2020 also believe there is a risk of fraud.
Former President Donald Trump insisted his supporters “overvoted.” prevent any electoral fraud.
“You've got to make friends and vote because, you know, they're playing a lot of tricks on this particular other side,” Trump told his supporters at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, earlier this month, urging them to help him boost his tally.
We cannot allow this. We cannot allow this to happen again,” he said.
Trump loudly protested the 2020 election results in Pennsylvania, claiming that Democrats used the mail-in voting system to cheat.
The Trump campaign unsuccessfully tried to challenge Pennsylvania's election results, claiming there were irregularities in mail-in voting.
