Today's Connection Tips
October 17 #354
In today's tricky puzzle, players will look for synonyms, pop culture references and guess the last word in a sentence. Personally, I like it when there is a lot of variety in wa Acquaintances a puzzle and this puzzle seems like this strikes the right balance between variety and some difficult words that can surprise you if you're not careful. With this in mind, to help you avoid these difficult words, here are four tips to help you:
- One category is for a specific type of outdoor space
- One category concerns actions a person can take to solve a problem
- One category concerns popular mobile media titles
- One category includes four words that share a common word in a sentence – this common word can be used to refer to a government department

I love beautiful grassy areas, especially if there are pretty wildflowers involved as well. However, the most difficult part of this category is the word FIELD. In my experience, this is a much more common word for this type of space, and it can be difficult to decide which of the five possible words to cut. My main advice and what I did was to look at each word and see what else it might mean. Ultimately, both Field and PARK were potential candidates for the cut, and I happened to guess correctly.

HANDLE |
This becomes more obvious when you remove FIELD from the previous category. ADDRESS and ANSWER already seemed to go together, and FIELD now needs to go here. Moving on, most of the other words have the same character and cannot be used in the form of a verbleaving HANDLE and taking fourth and final place. This is a case where the first category solution really helped and even led me to the second category solution.

I'm usually quite confident when it comes to movie categories, but today I wasn't fooled. This category was much more difficult for me than usual because I simply didn't recognize that these were films without full titles. I'm stuck on HARVARD's GOODFELLA for a few reasons. However, this was the case in this category rather a lack of context and a failure to recognize the missing element. If you're having difficulty, try saying the words in slightly different ways to see if it rings a bell.

Even though I was pretty sure three of those words went together, LEMON wasn't what I had in mind. I thought GOODFELLA made a lot more sense as a potential law-related name, but LEMON's Law was not something I had heard of before. But I know what it means and I can recognize it if something goes wrong when I make a big purchase. So Acquaintances taught me a valuable lesson today, even if I didn't see it at the time.
