Shrinking Season 2: Release date, cast, plot, trailer and everything we know
Shrinking starring Jason Segel and Harrison Ford was another big hit for AppleTV+, and here's everything we know about Shrinking season two.
On-screen tirade interviewed Luke Tennie to discuss working with Harrison Ford, his character's new food truck venture, and Sean's rise in the industry Shrinking season 2
Luke Tennie is “very excited” for fans to see his scenes with Harrison Ford
The characters Paul and Sean will create a new dynamic in the second season of “Shrink.”
Screen Rant: This season we deal with the consequences of Jimmy's unconventional approach to therapy. What does this mean for Sean this season?
Luke Tennie: For Sean, that means Jimmy does a little less than Paul. We'll see Paul introduce Jimmy's approach to Sean's therapy in a new way. I think we'll see the benefits of teamwork because it looks like Sean is a group project.
I like that we see character dynamics that we didn't get to explore much in the first season. You get a lot more scenes with Harrison Ford. Can you talk about the evolution of Sean and Paul's relationship this season and working with Harrison in general?
Luke Tennie: Working with Harrison is great. He's so funny and warm and funny and makes some really bold and interesting choices. But there is something of a rivalry between Sean and Paul in both cases. Both are quite simple; we're not in it for the joke characters, so they're similar in more ways than Sean and Jimmy. Sean and Jimmy kind of complement each other, whereas Sean and Paul, there's a certain similarity there, and that's why I'm so excited for people to see that this season.
Tennie reveals what makes his shrinking form stand out
What is different about Sean and what is his development like this season?
We also see Sean heading to his destination using a food truck. Can you talk about his relationship with Liz this season and how we see that relationship develop and change?
Luke Tennie: I think Sean is thinking about Liz's world. I think he understands that he's an eccentric character. She has her things, her problems, things that push her and I don't think Sean cares because he can see through it all and just see the biggest heart.
There's something about Sean, I think because of his history and his background, that he can see the true value of an individual more than anyone else. He's seen what it means to be in a life and death scenario, so I don't think he cares that much whether someone calls things agates or stones, he calls them whatever she asks him to.
Speaking of Sean's past, this season sees Sean forced to face his past. Can you discuss how this impacts Sean's development?
Luke Tennie: The problem with moving forward by looking at the past is that you have to get there and look back at it, which means it's going to be a few steps in the opposite direction than you'd like. In Season 1, we see that Sean doesn't really like dealing with the past.
When he feels good, he wants to hold on to that feeling, not realizing how it might mean sacrificing more progress. We'll see what it means for him to make these sacrifices to keep moving forward.
Forgiveness is an important topic this season. How does this relate to Sean's storyline and what did you learn about yourself through Sean's journey? Shrinking ?
Luke Tennie: This quote from anonymous that says “Unforgiving someone is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die” is such a cliché that we all admit that forgiveness is for us and not the other person, but it's the TRUTH . We'll just see a realistic play by play of what happens when you drink this poison expecting something else to happen.
