This Tuesday (15/10), Japan and Australia face off at the Saitama Stadium in Saitama. Japan came out on top in this battle for the fourth round of the third stage of the Asian qualifiers (Group C). But it was very unfortunate in the final stages that it all came out. The Australians almost never went on the offensive. Thus, in this game of mistakes, the ball entered only through own goals: 1 to 1. Australia, who took only two shots, took the lead through Tanigushi's own goal. However, Japan equalized when Burgess played against his own curve.
Japan lost 100% of the table. However, they lead the way with ten points and the World Cup qualifiers are well underway. But Australia will celebrate the point away from home against the best players in the group. After all, it reaches five points. With this, they are in contention for second place.
Japan is number one
Japan dominated the first half. But apart from a shot from outside the 20 that went into the net, he managed to threaten Ghousi's goal. At the end, Australia were scoreless in the first 45 minutes.
Australia ahead
The second half was no different: Japan on top, moving around the area, but without any success in finishing. At the age of 11, Minamino squandered a great opportunity. And there was an accent on those who didn't get the lead. At 13, Terry advanced to the right and passed no one. But Suzuki had little chance to defend and Tanigushi cut in and tried to score.
Japan draws. But take your own goal
In the 30th minute, Japan managed to equalize after much hammering. Nakamura makes a sensational move with a left, reaches the base and passes. Defender Burgess tries to cut in and is blocked. With the score tied at 1-1, the already excited Japanese fans turned up their support for their team. But Australia, so tight and stopping plays with fouls, held on for the much-celebrated result.
