While the Princess Royal certainly knows her own mind when it comes to style, she still draws inspiration from other fashionistas, and her latest look may be inspired by pop royalty Taylor Swift.
Princess Anne wore a Swift-inspired ensemble that included a plaid blazer and skirt combo with bold yellow trim as she headed to Gateshead for the Royal College of Emergency Medicine's annual science conference.
Taylor has been wearing plaid for almost every recent outing, attending football games to support her beau Travis Kelce and dressed head-to-toe in Vivienne Westwood for nights out in London. However, the look that made the floor a staple for the fall season was the yellow plaid dress she wore to the VMAs.
Following Taylor's appearance at the awards show, searches for 'Yellow plaid' increased by 222% – we wonder if any of the searches came from Gatcombe Park.
On top of that, Google searches for 'plaid dress' rose 122% globally after the VMAs.
Commenting on the findings, a spokesperson for BoohooBlade's statistics collector said: “Taylor's fashion has always been an inspiration to many fans, be it on game days or awards shows. Her latest blade look has proven so popular that it's been fueled by growing interest again. On the block.”
