Nunes says Poulos tried to intimidate him and criticizes opponent: 'not prepared'

Nunes says he didn't imagine Poulos would be so unprepared when assessing the debate:

Mayor of São Paulo and re-election candidate for the position, Ricardo Nunes (MDB) His participation in the first debate of the 2nd round was positively evaluated and criticized Guilherme Poulos (PSOL). This Monday, after a rally publicized by the band on the 14th night, the MDB candidate said the federal deputy was “not ready for City Hall”.

“I got an opportunity to speak and share my experience and knowledge. I didn't know Poulos was so unprepared. I don't know the contract, I don't know the rules, I don't know the law that talks about SUS”, he pointed out.

During a conversation with reporters, Nunes highlighted that the debate was better than the other 11 debates during the first round of the election race, but there were still “aggressions” and “lies”.

“He used a tactic he wanted to intimidate, but I'm from Parque Santo Antonio, right, guys? So, it's not a threat, no. […] I was very polite and I came and greeted him and I was going to greet him when I finished. […] That is democracy, you may think differently, but respect is fundamental,” he highlighted.

Nunes hugs Poulos after deputy 'confronts' mayor in debate: 'You don't intimidate me':

According to Nunes, Poulos' offensive stance is because his opponent is “bad in the polls.” The current mayor once again blamed the central government. “The grant, regulation and inspection rests with the central government. The central government has the responsibility to monitor the electricity. And why does Enel make so many mistakes? Because it is not supervised,” he noted.

Enel is an Italian energy distribution concession that operates in São Paulo through a concession with the central government. More than 340,000 people are in the dark in the capital São Paulo and the metropolitan area after the storm on Friday, 11.
