Guilherme Poulos (PSOL) quoted trainer Dele Santana to justify his attacking stance against Ricardo Nunes (MDB). The first debate of the second round for the city of São Paulo, broadcast by the band on Monday night, the 14th, also said that he saw Nunes as a “terrified mayor”.

After the discussion, statements were made to the press. When asked about his “attacking stance” and whether this could be a strategy to win over Pablo Marcelin (PRTB) voters, Poulos responded in football parlance:

“I always liked Deli Santana over Pareira, you know? Playing backfoot a lot isn't really my thing. I think people should be told what the truth is, especially at such a dramatic moment. In honor of the victims of the past days. I have to bring their anger to this discussion,” he says, referring to the blackout that gripped the capital of São Paulo since Friday, the 11th.

Poulos also commented on the hug between the candidates. Boulos and Nunes struck a humorous tone amid the exchange of accusations in the debate. At one point, when Nunes was attacking Boulos, the psolist left his pulpit and walked toward the current mayor. After a staredown, Nunes gave him a hug, breaking the tense atmosphere.

After an unexpected visit from his political opponent, “Are you all right?” “I'm fine, and you? Is everything certain?”, replied Poulos. Both of them had a smile on their face and made the audience laugh. Still with a smile on her face, Nunes said: “You're not going to threaten me, you know why? I come from the suburbs of Parque Santo Antonio. I am not afraid of anything. Only God.” Boulos said: “Never.”

Regarding the situation, Poulos said that Nunes was “nervous” about the situation and took advantage of the moment to attack, again, his opponent: “He's nervous, he's a little insecure”. The vice-chancellor said he was not concerned about the situation, and smiled. “He is a fearful mayor,” he concluded.
