Country star Darius Rucker falls on his face during concert and jokes he's “old”

The good times are still rolling for Dariusz Ruckeniech even after his body fell to the floor following an unfortunate slip at a weekend concert.

Rucker, who performed with his band Hootie & the Blowfish at his annual Riverfront Revival festival in Charleston, South Carolina, didn't let the trip interrupt his performance.

The 58-year-old singer had just started singing her 2009 hit “Alright” in a fan-shot video when he appeared to hit the monitor with his foot and fall onto the stage.

Without missing a beat, Rucker joked, “I'm old as f**k.”

Next up in the show is the “Wagon Wheel” singer. he addressed the elephant in the room and made fun of his stumble on stage.

“We did it all summer,” he said. “I didn't fall once. But I got hurt in… in my hometown.”

Following last year's induction ceremony for Rucker's Hollywood Walk of Fame, the acclaimed musician told Fox News Digital exclusively that he doesn't feel like he's reached the peak of his career yet.

“I think what makes me work so hard is always feeling like I haven't done enough,” he said.

Although he had been singing and recording music for most of his life, there was one key moment when he knew he had achieved a certain level of success.

Rucker realized he had truly made it as an artist when he was asked to be a member of the show The Great Ole Opry.

“That was really the moment where I thought, 'This is really working. It's happening. People understand it,' and it was really cool,” Rucker recalled.

Hootie & the Blowfish reunited this year to tour in celebration of the 30th anniversary of their hugely successful album, Cracked Rear View.

The South Carolina band's debut catalog, which included songs such as “Only Wanna Be With You”, “Hold My Hand” and “Let Her Cry”, was released in July 1994 and was certified 21x platinum.

“It means it's the 30th anniversary of 'Cracked Rear View' and that record is very important,” Rucker said, boasting about one of the “10 best-selling studio records of all time.”

Hootie & the Blowfish released four more studio albums before going on hiatus in 2008, which led Rucker to pursue a completely different genre: country music.

Rucker also continued to record as a solo artist. In 2023, he released his eighth solo album, “Carolyn's Boy”, a tribute to his late mother, who died in 1992, just as Hootie was gaining momentum.

“She was my biggest cheerleader and biggest supporter,” he said. “Our faith is something that we were taught at a young age and, you know, it always stays with us. So she means everything to me.”
