When officers arrived at Dufferin St.-St. Clair Ave. around 5:30 p.m. on October 1, the man escaped.
Police released a photo of the suspect and urged anyone with information to call 416-808-1300.
Thieves steal $250,000 worth of jewelry from Airbnb
Three men and a woman have been charged after stealing $250,000 worth of jewelry from an Airbnb in Bowmanville.
Durham Regional Police responded to a report of a theft on Cove-West Beach Rds. around noon last Friday after the Airbnb owner reported the theft.
Police say the four suspects booked an Airbnb for the night and when they left the next morning, they found the jewelry missing. According to police, officers later found the missing valuables during the arrests.
Nicole Bobbi Herdsman, 35, of no fixed address; Marc Dominique Nicholas, 41, of Clarington; Roderick Richard Ayre, 37, of Oshawa; and John Weir, 38, of Clarington, face charges including theft of more than $5,000.

An OPP officer allegedly stopped a driver on the highway traveling at 172 km/h with a child in the vehicle. 401.
A driver was arrested Sunday morning east of Brockville with a child and three other adults in the vehicle.
The driver faces stunt driving charges, 14-day vehicle confiscation and a 30-day driving license suspension.
“Speeding is the leading cause of fatal collisions on Ontario roads. The fate of passengers depends on the driver's behavior, and such speeds threaten not only the lives of passengers, but also other road users,” the OPP announced on social media.

The fight ends with a 911 call and drug charges
Two men face drug trafficking charges after police responded to a 911 call about a fight in Oshawa.
Durham Regional Police were called to the area of Simcoe and John Sts. on Sunday at 10:25 p.m. after a passerby reported a fight.
Police said officers found two men who allegedly had drugs and weapons. They seized cocaine, fentanyl and methamphetamine, as well as a foldable baton, a conductive energy weapon and knives.
Omari Anderson, 25, of York, and Steven MacCarthy, 28, of Oshawa, face weapons and drug charges.

Hamilton police have charged a 61-year-old Hamilton man after a collision in which he failed to maintain his vehicle, leaving one person with serious injuries.

At 5:40 a.m. Sunday, police found a person on the road with serious head injuries after being hit by a vehicle in the area of Queen St.-Aberdeen Ave. The vehicle left the scene.
The driver was charged with failure to remain at the scene causing actual bodily harm after he turned himself in on Monday.
A pedestrian died after being hit by a school bus
A 22-year-old woman died from injuries she suffered when a school bus hit her in a crosswalk last week, according to Toronto police.
Police say a pedestrian was seriously injured last Wednesday around 4 p.m. when a bus was making a left turn off Kingston Rd. in Kingswood Rd.
The woman died on Sunday in hospital.
The investigation is ongoing.
