Tom Holland surprises Spider-Man fans

Spider-Man fans haven't been impressed since Tom Holland made a surprising announcement on social media, and it has nothing to do with the much-loved Marvel character.

Tom, 28, posted a teaser video on Instagram on Sunday, which showed him playing golf with some male friends, as many of his fans began to speculate that it might be linked to a new sportswear venture.

However, on Monday he confirmed that he will indeed be launching a premium non-alcoholic beer called Beero on October 16, and shared a photo of himself sipping the drink while wearing a blue and white striped shirt.

Tom, who recently sent fans wild again in a video captioned simply: 'Something brewing… Launching 10.16.24. Berobrewing.com links in BIO, but his fans were less than impressed and immediately took to the comments section to let him know their thoughts.

'I thought this was going to be a Spiderman announcement,' one said, while another disappointed follower wrote: 'Man had the entire internet thinking it was Spider-Man 4 related news.'

Other fans were very supportive of Tom's new venture and couldn't wait to try it out, especially after he revealed that he decided to go sober last year after realizing he was addicted to alcohol.

The Spider-Man star appeared on Jay Shetty's podcast in July 2023, where he opened up about how addicted he was after taking part in 'Dry January'.

There was never a day when I woke up and said, “I'm going to quit drinking.” I, like many Brits, was on holiday in December, Christmas time, and was drinking a lot,' he began, adding, 'I always managed to drink a lot.'

“I decided to skip January, I wanted to do Dry January and all I could think about was drinking,” he admitted.

'I could think. I woke up thinking about it and checking the clock, “When is it 12 o'clock?” It really scared me.

I thought, “Wow, maybe I've had a bit of alcohol,” so I decided to punish myself and told myself I'd do February and take two months off.

He argued that 'if I give him two months off, I can prove to myself that I have no problem'.

Tom said that after two months he was 'still struggling, I couldn't be social, I couldn't go to the pub and have a lime soda, I couldn't go out for dinner'. I was really having a hard time, staring at it without worrying if I had an alcohol problem.

He decided to go sober for three more months before his birthday on June 1.

I said, 'If I don't drink alcohol for six months, I can prove to myself that I have no problem.' 'When June 1 came around, I was the happiest I'd ever been in my life.
