Boruto finally follows in Naruto's footsteps, but it could be a big mistake

Boruto always harkened back to the original series, and it feels like it does Boruto: Two blue swirls took another step in this direction, which will be reflected in the final arc Naruto very close. While there are similarities, there are some key differences that make it very interesting and unique from the original.

As usual, on the official website Naruto AND Boruto released a preview of the next chapter a week before the official release, and this one is huge, to say the least. It shows Boruto and Kawaki talking atop what appears to be a statue of Hokage Naruto.

Boruto tells Kawaki that he needs to get stronger and that it would be ideal if he released Naruto, his mentor, and let him train him. However, it's too late for that and the results won't come that quickly, so Boruto will tell him something that he will realize sooner or later.

Boruto: Two Blue Vortex finally saw the debut of the anticipated Naruto character

It has been confirmed that the next chapter of Boruto will feature the fan-favorite character from the first part of the series.

Boruto and Kawaki agree to fight a stronger enemy just like Naruto and Sasuke

An unexpected twist pushes two blue vortexes in a known direction

This is setting up bringing together Boruto and Kawaki to defeat a greater evil even if they are enemies, it was exactly the same with Naruto and Sasuke against Madara. Boruto will most likely tell Kawaki about how he can predict the future and discuss the New Predictability Shinjutsu Kashin Koji. Kawaki already knows that Boruto is working with Kashin Koji and it is also likely that the truth about Jura and Shinju will be revealed in full since Kawaki only knows bits and pieces about them from spying on Boruto's interrogation.

This chapter will also reveal what exactly Kawaki's decision will be in the future, so that will be something to look forward to. If Kawaki discovers the truth about Shinju, there is no doubt that he will fight alongside Boruto. One of his greatest fears has always been that the Ten-Tails will consume Boruto, Otsutsuki, and the activation of the God Tree, leading to the end of the world. He wants very much to protect Naruto and his village, which is why he is so adamant about killing Boruto and eliminating the possibility of destroying the world. So if he finds out that Jura poses a threat to Naruto and Konoha, he will cooperate with Boruto, even if temporarily.

It plays out very similarly to the Fourth Great Ninja War, where Naruto and Sasuke put their differences aside fight Obito, Madara and then Kaguya to stop the activation of the God Tree and the Infinite Tsukuyomi. They then enter the fight one of Naruto's best fights and reconcile. However, this is very different from Boruto and Kawaki's situation, as the two may never go back to being brothers.

Kawaki is deathly afraid of Momoshiki, most likely due to the trauma caused by Ishikki Otsutuski, and fears that Boruto will be taken over by Momoshiki. Moreover, Naruto is one of Momoshiki's targets. As long as there is even the slightest chance that Momoshiki will take over Boruto again, Kawaki will always be afraid of him and will want to kill his brother if it also means killing Momoshiki, all to save Naruto. This means that even if they both work together against Jura, they will fight again one day and unlike Naruto and Sasuke, they will never reconcile.

That is, the opening scene Boruto, where Kawaki says he will send Boruto to where Naruto is has not been verified yet, meaning he will seal him in Daikokuten. However, the teaser seems to suggest this Boruto plans to train Kawaki himself. Right now Kawaki is definitely too weak to help and would actually be a burden. This was shown during the Shinju Invasion when Kawaki couldn't do anything against Jura and wasn't fast enough to save Himawari. Furthermore, Kawaki is targeted by the Shinju, who want to use him as a sacrifice to awaken the God Tree.

With all these factors in mind, Boruto wants to train Kawaki and teach him all the skills he would learn in the future, the same trick Koji used on him. While it would help him in the short term, Kawaki will definitely use this power to fight Boruto and lead to their long-awaited confrontation. Either Boruto believes that he can find a way to become friends with Kawaki again, or he simply finds the current situation so dire that he needs Kawaki's help to save everyone.

Fans of the show may not be too happy to learn this Boruto is a mirror image Naruto too close again as the rift between Kawaki and Boruto was quickly healed to fight a stronger enemy. If the two former brothers reconcile after the final fight like Naruto and Sasuke did, it will be difficult to argue in favor of Borutooriginality, but fortunately Two blue swirls has defied expectations so far, so there's reason to hope for more twists and turns.
