CNN data reporter Harry Enten warned Sunday that former President Donald Trump is projected to win “historic” numbers of Black and Latino voters in the November election.
During an appearance on Inside Politics, Enten revealed potentially bad news for Democrats and also noted that for the first time in nearly 40 years, Republicans are outpacing Democrats in party identification and registration.
“If the polls are to be believed, at this particular hour Donald Trump will have his best showing among black voters since Richard Nixon in the 1960s.” – said Enten.
A New York Times/Siena College poll released Sunday suggests Vice President Kamala Harris has 78% of the Black vote. Hillary Clinton won the voting bloc with 92% in 2016, and President Biden won about 90% in 2020.

Enten also told the CNN panel on Sunday that Trump is expected to deliver his “best showing” among Republicans when it comes to Latino voters since former President George W. Bush in 2004.
“The GOP currently has the advantage in party identification,” he said. “When the Republican Party loses, Democrats have an advantage of 8. When the Republican Party wins, the average GOP advantage for Democrats is 3. Currently, Republicans, Manu, when they win, do even better than average” – Enten in addition.
He noted that party registration and party ID data “point in the right direction” for Trump.
Enten, however, questioned whether Trump's performance among minority groups could be undermined by Harris's support among college-educated white voters.

“Ultimately, the question is: Will this be enough to offset the power that Kamala Harris has with college-educated white voters? At this particular point in time, he has the biggest lead with them than any Democrat in the history of polling history, I think. from 1948, 1952, wherever you want to put it,” he said.
Enten calculated that Harris wins the demographic by 18 points.
An NBC News poll of registered voters released Sunday showed voters virtually evenly split between the two candidates.

When the poll, conducted Oct. 4-8, asked respondents who they would choose, Trump and Harris each earned 48% in a hypothetical head-to-head matchup.
After third-party data was taken into account, the overall result was 47% approval for Trump compared to 46% for Harris.
