Spoiler alert: The following article contains spoilers from Tracker's second season premiere, “Out of the Past.”
After just one season and 13 episodes, Abstract lost one of its five original cast members, Robin Weigert. Weigert played, among others, Teddi Bruin, who was married to Velma Bruin and worked as one of Colter Shaw's handlers on the CBS action drama. As fans know Abstract revolves around Colter Justin Hartleysurvivalist and award winner. Colter is a lone wolf who travels the country using his tracking skills to help law enforcement and private citizens, with Teddi and Velma helping him with his work in season 1. However, as of season 2, Teddi is not on Colter's payroll.
Abstract
Season 2 consists of 22 episodes and airs Sundays at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.
As of season 2, episode 1, “Out of the Past”, Weigert is no longer part of the Abstract to throw. The actress' last appearance takes place during Abstract the finale of the first season (unbeknownst to viewers), meaning Weigert won't be around to ship his character in the season two premiere. As a result, the remaining characters, including Colter, Velma and Reenie Greene, are forced to explain why Teddi is not seen in the first episode, which aired on October 13, 2024.
Possible reason for Weigert's departure as Teddi on Tracker
TV line this was reported exclusively in August 2024, a few months before the premiere of the second season, Robin Weigert would not reprise his role as Teddy in Abstract season 2. Unfortunately, the outlet did not reveal why Weigert is leaving. At the time of writing this article, the reason for the actress' departure is still unknown because neither Weigert nor Abstract producers and cast revealed why she left after just one season.
Many stars who leave their TV shows often do so due to contract negotiations, scheduling conflicts, creative differences, a desire to explore other paths, or because that's what the narrative says.
Of course, basic and common explanations for the departure of TV actors may be responsible for Weigert's departure. Many stars who leave their TV shows often do so due to contract negotiations, scheduling conflicts, creative differences, a desire to explore other paths, or because that's what the narrative says. Based on the story in Abstract season 2 premiere, Teddi's absence probably wasn't a decision made purely for narrative purposes. Otherwise, Teddi would have had a better exit. So it's more likely (though not confirmed) that Weigert left Abstract of my own free will.
How the second season of Tracker deals with Teddy's exit
Teddi is out of town for the Season 2 premiere of Tracker
The Abstract The premiere of the second season explains the fate of Robin Weigert's character, at least partially. Although Teddi is never shown, Velma appears and reveals that her wife is out of town helping her mother. Velma was with Teddi, but she felt he was getting in her way. So Velma returns home in episode 1 to help Colter with his latest case and to help Reena with her new law firm, allowing Abby McEnany's character to integrate with the other characters now that Teddi is gone.

Colter Shaw's upcoming turn in Tracker season 2 will make (or break) the series a hit on CBS
Justin Hartley's Colter Shaw is undergoing some changes ahead of Tracker's second season, and the changes should benefit the show (if done correctly).
Although the Prime Minister never explicitly states it (and even suggests it), Teddi and Velma separate Abstract season 2 Following the announcement that Weigert was leaving the CBS action series, showrunner Elwood Reid revealed the sad news. He said Entertainment Weekly: :
“(Velma) and Teddy broke up. Velma is kind of struggling with what it means to be abandoned and dealing with those emotions.”
Considering Teddy and Velma's divorce, Weigert's return in Season 2 is unlikely. Instead, the episodes will develop Velma's story beyond her relationship with Teddi. Of course, she still works for Colter, but Velma's relationship with Reenie will also develop as they work together. Reenie's new law firm in Abstract Season 2 on CBS.
