Sister Wives star Meri Brown has been one of the most interesting to watch following her split from Kody Brown and now that their church had granted her an exemption from marriagetakes his final revenge. Meri's relationship with Kody is the longest in their lives, lasting over thirty years and an extremely turbulent period for both parties. Meri, who married Kody in 1990 after less than a year of courtship and spent the duration of her marriage with the Brown family patriarch, is fiercely loyal and knows her place in the family hierarchy.

At the beginning of the run Sister Wives, Kody and Meri were affectionate with each other despite some of Meri's fertility issues, which put a serious strain on their relationship. However, when Kody met Robyn Brown, things changed for the entire Brown family. Meri and her sister wives, Janelle Brown and Christine Brown, felt tension in Kody's relationship with Robyn that ran much deeper than their separate relationships with her husband.

Although Kody and his wife faced difficulties in the years following Robyn's arrival, things didn't seem outwardly difficult until the Covid-19 pandemic made the Browns really take a look at their lives. Meri, Christine and Janelle, isolated and mostly living apart from each other, felt different waves of pain from the way Kody chose to treat them as opposed to the way he treated Robyn. Over the years of accumulated difficult emotions, Meri decided to follow in the footsteps of Christine and Janelle when she ended her marriage to Kody after years of turmoil.

Although Kody and Meri have not been legally married since 2014, in the eyes of the Church they have been spiritually married for 32 years. Kody legally married Meri in 1990, but when Robyn came on the scene, he asked Meri if she would legally divorce him in order to legally marry Robyn. He explained that he had to do this in order to adopt her children from his first marriage, and Meri initially agreed, but years later she realized that it was a slap in the face from her husband and his wife's sister.

Even though Meri was legally divorced from Kody and the couple had rocky moments in their relationship that led to the demise of their marriage, their spiritual marriage remained intact. In the eyes of the Church Meri had to ask for leave to divorce Kodyand the Church must have felt that it was appropriate to grant it. Fortunately, after years of imprisonment in her relationship with Kody, Meri was freed. Happy to be moving on, Meri isn't shy about her opinions about Kody, Robyn, and the rest of her Sister Wives family.

Throughout Kody and Meri's marriage, there were times when he was a devoted husband, but… When Robyn came on the scene, their relationship had more problems than happy days. Kody favored Robyn whenever she came along, and with three other wives in the relationship, it was clear to everyone that he had deeper feelings for her than anyone else. The discomfort of Kody's favoritism wasn't a topic discussed by the other three wives, but it became clear that they all felt tension between themselves and their husband, despite his attempts to alleviate it.

Throughout her marriage to Kody, Meri struggled with herself and the state of her relationship, at one point even turning to someone else to deal with her emotions. One sec Meri had struggled with fertility for years before Robyn joined the familyby the time she joined the plural family, the Browns' situation had changed. Meri became close to Robyn, but at the same time began an online romance that turned into a major catfishing scandal discussed on the show. Meri was dealing with a cheater, but deep down she was unfaithful to Kode and their marriage.

Although Meri had worked hard on herself over the years, after her split from Kody, her training became more intense and her schedule more rigorous. Meri's decision to increase her exercise intensity was in some ways calculated, but in others it was a decision to feel more connected to her body. As she worked to improve her physical fitness, Meri was excited to dedicate herself to something life-changing, knowing it would improve her physical and mental health. At the same time, Meri knew that revenge would be the way to get back at Kody.

One sec Meri's body transformation was stunning Sister Wives viewers in many ways, it's clear that she worked hard to make sure Kody understood what he was rejecting. By not developing a relationship with Meri over the years, Kody has decided to take himself out of the equation when it comes to winning her heart. While neither of them seem interested in getting back together, Meri probably feels a little more confident knowing that she's gotten into shape in a way she couldn't while Kody was holding her back from her full potential.

Her behavior was noticed by Sister Wives viewers, and although she didn't say it outright, it's clear that she lives her life to the fullest to get back at Kody for abandoning her when she needed him the most.

Although Meri's time has come Sister Wives she was a bit more isolated than the rest of the family, she made it clear that she was happy to be alone. By learning about herself in new ways and working on her physical and mental self, Meri was able to find a new sense of strength in her split. Although she lost some of the Brown family's affection for her, Meri regained the sense of self she had missed for years. Sister Wives.
