Former President Trump said the immigration crisis at the southern border is likely a “bigger deal” this election campaign than the inflation and economic woes that have rattled voters in recent years, according to his exclusive interview with Fox News' “Sunday Morning Futures.”

“We have great support. They are tired of seeing what has happened to this country. They are tired of seeing incompetence, of borders. “I think the border is maybe a bigger deal than even inflation,” Trump said during an interview with Fox News Business host Maria Bartiromo, asked about his message to undecided voters.

Trump joined Bartiromo in an interview that aired on Sunday, just 22 days before Election Day. The interview with Trump was extensive and touched on topics such as taxes, the tariffs he will impose on foreign countries, his position on abortion and foreign affairs such as the ongoing war in Israel.

“And inflation is a huge word. And the bad economy is huge. Inflation made the economy worse. It made it impossible for people. But I almost think that when they see millions of people coming into our country, 13,099 murderers, many of them murdered more than one person. When they see this, I actually think so, I think the border is a bigger problem than even the economy. Those are the two most important issues,” Trump continued in the interview.

Trump said that beyond the border and inflation, hurricanes that devastated states like North Carolina, Georgia and Florida – and the White House's response – will appeal to voters.

“I think the other really important issue is how badly they did against North Carolina and parts of Georgia. When we look at what happened and Florida… We see what's happening there. “I think we were a little lucky in the sense that it was bad, but it wasn't as bad as they thought,” Trump said.

“The response from the White House was absolutely terrible. Her reaction was terrible, so bad that they didn't even want her, I see (Governor Ron DeSantis) didn't want her in Florida. They just don't even come here. So I think we're doing really well,” he added.
