She doesn't own Kate Middleton's collection of rarely seen tiaras

The Princess of Wales has worn some incredible tiaras during her time in the royal spotlight. She made a statement when she married Prince William, now 42, in 2011 by donning an heirloom diamond headpiece worth £1million.

Since then, she has graced important royal occasions in glittering headpieces dating back decades. However, it may surprise royal fans to learn that the princess, 42, does not own her tiaras.

Prince William's wife's most spectacular appearances were facilitated by sovereign debt. “They were given as loans to her, first by Queen Elizabeth II, and more recently by King Charles III and Queen Camilla,” Lauren Keehna of court jeweler previously told Hello!.

Cartier Halo Tiara

Kate's sparkling tiara debut took her wedding look to another level. On the momentous day, the soon-to-be royal was first spotted traveling with her father in a Rolls-Royce. Queen Elizabeth wears a Cartier halo tiara on loan from Michael Middleton.

The dazzling tiara is made up of 739 brilliant-cut diamonds and 149 baguette diamonds In 1936, King George VI commissioned Cartier to create a tiara from the diamonds and platinum he bought for his wife three weeks before her coronation.

Lotus flower tiara

The mother-of-three wore the lotus tiara to the annual diplomatic reception in 2013, before wearing it again to the Chinese state banquet in 2015, and most recently to the 2022 diplomatic reception at Buckingham Palace.

The stunning tiara was made from a necklace that was initially given to the late Queen Mother as a wedding gift by her husband, King George VI, in 1923.

Valentine's knot tiara

Romantic in name and nature, the Lover's Knot Tiara was created for Queen Mary in 1913 and later gifted by the late Queen. Princess Diana when she married Prince Charles in 1981.

The diamond and pearl tiara has been worn by Kate on many occasions, but most recently at a diplomatic reception in 2023 to add a touch of history to her pink Jenny Packham gown.

This is a replica of the Cambridge Lover's Knot Tiara, made in the 19th century as a wedding gift for Princess Augusta of Hesse Castle, Duchess of Cambridge.

Strathmore Rose Tiara

Among Kate's tiara moments, the Strathmore Rose tiara can truly be a sight to behold. The king's daughter-in-law debuted the tiara at a 2023 South Korean state dinner, adding a whimsical quality to her ivory Jenny Packham gown with cap shoulders.
