During Sunday's home game against the Detroit Lions, Dallas Cowboys fans can try a new sweet and salty combination: Fritos Sundae.
This most unexpected dessert combines two Texas favorites: Fritos, invented in San Antonio, and Blue Bell ice cream.
Both are topped with cinnamon and sugar, drizzled with caramel-chocolate syrup, and finished with sprinkles and a maraschino cherry.

“Every year we always try to find unique products and enjoy the food,” George Wasai, vice president of food and beverage at Legends Hospitality, told Fox News Digital in a Zoom interview. (See the video at the top of this article.)
Legends Hospitality operates concessions for many teams, including the Dallas Cowboys.
Fritos Sundae was created out of a discussion about what snacks could be combined as part of a new concession product.
“At first, everyone, including my team, thought I was crazy,” Wasai said. “They thought I was crazy for wanting to do something like that until we put it together and tried it.”
After the first Fried Ice Cream gathered, attitudes began to change, he said.
“We realized what a great dessert it was,” Wasai said.
Heather Fuller, executive chef at Cowboys AT&T Stadium, agreed.
“They work great together and it's very good.”
“Everyone really loves it. I really haven't heard anyone express a negative opinion about it,” she said in a joint Zoom interview.
And while she said she understands that “a lot of people are a little leery” about trying a dessert of corn chips and ice cream, she insisted it was worth a try.

“They work very well together and it's very good,” she said.
But for those who want to stick to the tried-and-true classics, there's the Cowboys Cheesesteak and the Lineman Burrito.
The cowboy cheesesteak is the so-called No. 1 sandwich sold at AT&T Stadium, Wasai told Fox News Digital, and the event has been around for more than 25 years.
“We wanted to create our own style of Philly cheesecake,” Wasai said — one that incorporates ingredients found in Texas.
Fuller said the Cowboys Cheesesteak consists of shaved tenderloin “seasoned with our special seasoning.”

The tenderloin is topped with “all-natural jalapeño jack cheese” along with onion and jalapeño peppers.
Wasai said the Cowboys Cheesesteak is so good that even visiting Philadelphia Eagles fans admit they like it.
“They just marvel at it,” he said.
“We'll go out and tell (Eagles fans) we use real cheese,” Fuller said with a laugh.
Fuller said the Lineman Burrito debuted last season and has since become a customer favorite.

A fusion of Tex-Mex and barbecue – two of Texas' most famous cuisines – the Lineman Burrito is not for the faint of heart.
“It's a 17-inch tortilla (with) our famous Cowboys Mac and Cheese, our house-smoked brisket, jalapeño sausage, pico de gallo, house-made candied jalapeños and barbecue sauce,” Fuller said.
The item is then wrapped and grilled.
The idea for the burrito came about when a salesman “brought us a tortilla” and suggested that it could be used to make something like a jumbo-sized burrito.

“And then I started thinking,” Fuller said. “We like to work outside the box and be very innovative.”
This innovation led to the “grilled burrito” idea, which evolved into the Burrito Lineman.
A burrito the size of Texas should be shared, she said.

“I wouldn't suggest anyone eat this on their own,” Fuller said.
“But we saw people try.”
