If you need to search something, you might be digging through it. ROOT can connect plants to the ground, but it can also mean digging around, especially if you're trying to get to the bottom. SIFT can mean many things, but as an archaeologist being able to sift through dirt is one of my favorite meanings and something I've done quite a lot of. Finally, COMBING through something can mean using a comb in your hair, but it also has another meaning.

BANG |
It took me a second to decipher it because I forgot the word PEAL existed. It's a good word and should probably add a bit more to my vocabulary than it currently has. I was more aware of RUMBLE and ROLL and grouped the two together from the beginning before adding CLAP as another loud sound. It wasn't until I finished the category that I realized that was everyone there were supposed to be words specifically about thunderbut it made sense as a category for loud sounds without this specification.

TWIST |
After seeing BRAID and TWIST, I thought it was likely that they went together and started looking for other options. I didn't see anything about rope or any other kind of “twisted” words that leaned more into the verb category, so I looked at BUN and I thought they might be different hairstyles. It took me a little too long to add PONY to the mix, but that was because it was missing a key “tail” that would get me going faster. That being said, I'm still glad I was able to resolve this issue.

Finally, this category was something I was leaning towards but wasn't sure about. I had seen BOOK and TREE before and thought it might refer to things made of or consisting of paper. which turned out to be almost truebut when I came back to those words at the end, it didn't immediately make sense as I entered the final guesses. I make more sense now and I'm a little mad that I was so close. However, I can't be mad that I solved it correctly and won.
