Oregon DuckWelcome to the Big Ten.
Late drive against third-ranked Ducks No. 2 Ohio State Saturday night saw an impressive 32-31 victory in Eugene.
This match was a movie from the beginning – only in the first half we saw a successful onside kick, a kickout and a blocked PAT that almost hit the net. But somehow the ending was better.

Early in Dillon Gabriel's fourth quarter, Grounder found the end zone from 27 yards out and the PAT put the Ducks up 29-28. However, the Buckeyes responded with a 40-yard field goal to go up two points. Oregon got the ball back and drove down the field with six minutes left, and on the 11th play it made a field goal to take a 32-31 lead with 1:47 left.
Will Howard was sacked for nine yards on the Buckeyes' first drive on the next drive, but he quickly completed passes of 13, 8, 9 and 26 yards to get within field goal range. However, offensive pass interference knocked them out of that situation – it appears that even Ohio State didn't know the clock would be running once the ball was placed after the penalty.
With six seconds left, Howard ran a few yards for his team's field goal, but didn't slip fast enough to call a timeout, ending the game.
If Howard stops even once a tick early (it didn't look like it was a planned run), there might be enough time to call a timeout. Ducks fans stormed the field almost immediately, and it took a while for Gabriel and head coach Dan Lanning to get on the field.

The game went from forward to forward with no one leading by more than one possession. Ohio State scored on the first drive, but Oregon tied it later – but that's where the PAT was blocked and it was 7-6 Buckeyes.
Oregon missed a field goal on its next drive, and the Buckeyes scored in just four plays and led by eight. Oregon scored on their next drive, but trailing by two points, they went for a two-point conversion. It didn't work out, but thanks to a penalty for a personal foul they started in midfield. So they decided to use a side kick and they succeeded. They kicked a field goal and took advantage, but lost Tracy Holden on the drive. Spit on an opponent I was kicked from the game. Both teams scored seven more points before the break, giving the Ducks a 22-21 lead in the locker room.

Oregon made its first drive of the second half, and the Buckeyes responded with a touchdown by rookie phenom Jeremiah Smith and scored six times. On their next drive, the Ducks advanced beyond the five-yard line but failed to score, turning the ball over on downs. Fortunately for them, it didn't matter though, as they forced a punt and got the ball back early in the fourth quarter.
Gabriel finished the game with 341 passing yards, and Jordan James ran for 115 yards on 23 carries, including a touchdown. Evan Stewart led all receivers with 149 yards on seven catches – he and Tej Johnson scored the Oregon touchdown.
Howard's 326 yards through the air weren't enough – Smith and Emeka Eggbuka Totaled 19 receptions, 193 yards and two touchdowns.
