Social media users are not thrilled with the launch of the “long-awaited” Chicken Big Mac at McDonald's.
The Chicken Big Mac, which was officially released on October 10, features two chicken patties instead of the beef patties usually found in a Big Mac.
“With the introduction of the Chicken Big Mac, we are excited to pay homage to one of our most iconic menu items, the Big Mac, and introduce it to a whole new generation of fans,” said Tariq Hassan, chief marketing and customer experience officer at McDonald's USA, said in press release.

The Chicken Big Mac was available at some international McDonald's locations, but was never widely sold in the United States.
But when the sandwich actually hit the menu this week, social media users were largely disappointed.
“I'm sorry to report that the Chicken Big Mac is very average,” said one X user.
The same user replied to his own tweet, saying: “The chicken is basically a large version of their chicken nuggets which at that size tastes really bland. The McChicken is an elite sandwich on the menu with a pleasant, peppery taste. I can't understand why they didn't use these instead.”
Most of the complaints about the Big Mac Chicken X were related to the type of McDonald's chicken used in the product.

“So today I ate a Big Mac with chicken. Not only is it not a Big Mac, but two pieces of fried chicken have way too much breading,” said another X user.
“I'd like to say that a Big Mac with chicken is a good idea, but as for taste buds everywhere, heed my warning,” said another X user.
The user continued: “It's a wet, tasteless lump masquerading as a sandwich. They don't even use McChicken chicken. How dare you stand where he stood!”
“The Chicken Big Mac is just too much food. The patties are twice as thick as the burgers,” said another user, X.

He continued: “A lot to chew on. Plus, the breading of these patties combined with plenty of bread rolls makes them a bread bomb. The flavors are ok. But I couldn't finish them. 3/10″.
Jonathan Maze, editor-in-chief of Restaurant Business Magazine, posted on X that his family had tried the Chicken Big Mac, but with different views.
“Wife: I won't buy this again, too messy and bland, I won't make it again. The youngest: The best sandwich he ever ate at McDonald's,” wrote Labirynt.
His oldest son's fraternity declaration was required to test the sandwich, Maze said, rating it an 8 out of 10.

However, some people strongly supported the Chicken Big Mac.
Alyssa Rose, daughter of Mets radio announcer Howie Rose, had high praise for the article.
“I would like to take a moment to give all the glory to our lord and savior, Grimace, not only for the Mets run, but also for the greatest culinary creation of our lives, the Chicken Big Mac,” she wrote on X.
“I'm sad to report that the Chicken Big Mac is good,” said another X user.

But one user X had a much more complex problem with the product: the name.
“You're telling me they actually called it the Big Mac Chicken when the Big MacChicken was RIGHT THERE,” the user wrote.
