He promised to take her horseback riding around his Nashville ranch and to a special beach in California, but said none of that happened.

Fairrose said she was isolated from her family and friends during their relationship but believed Billy Ray was 'protecting' her.

She recalled: 'Suddenly, instead of being my normal lively, outgoing self, I became very introverted and would try to be more positive because I was afraid to let anyone see me unless we were working or together in public. How destructively I would recoil.

Billy Ray's marriage to Firerose, which came four months after Dish filed for divorce, is believed to have strained his relationship with his daughter Miley, 31.

Billy Ray was engaged to Tish when he first met the Firerose in 2010, but nothing happened until more than a decade later when Tanya Tucker asked him to duet with her on her version of Delta Dawn.

He has been married to Dish for 30 years and they have three children – Miley, Bryson, 30 and Noah, 24.

Billy Ray has a son from a previous relationship and Dish's two older children, Brandi, 37, and Trace, 35, were adopted when they were married.
