When that didn't happen, or rather Arthur Fleck shocked everyone by completely disowning the Joker and implying that it wasn't another side of him, Folie à Deux opened to a huge wave of criticism. This is new Reddit theory provides a perfect solution to these concerns, as it suggests that the Joker was a separate person and clearly didn't like Fleck's comments.

Despite this, Joker: Folie à Deux's the ending, especially if this theory is implemented, perfectly sets up at least one more sequel. The theory involves the Joker taking full control of Arthur Fleck's body, which would be fantastic to see in a sequel, and the official ending of the film also teases the arrival of a new Joker.

That's not the direction this movie is going in for me. I feel like my time in the DC Universe was these two movies.

After the negative reaction of many, but not all, to Joker: Folie à Deuxit seems that Arthur Fleck and Lee's stories may end completely.
