Terrifier 3's biggest unanswered questions

There are spoilers for “Terrifier 3” below.

Halloween season is here, which means it's time for Art the Clown to return. And the icon of the modern slasher art has become a staple of Halloween, largely because the first two “Terrorist” films take place during Halloween. Now comes “Terrifier 3,” which changes things up by placing most of the horror action around Christmas (though yes, there are a few scenes set around Halloween as well). The “Terrifier” movies have become famous for their gruesome violence, and “Terrorizer 3” is no exception. This is a movie made by sick people for sick people (we swear we mean that in a complimentary way), so people craving more brutality from Art won't be disappointed. As we said in our positive review of the new movie:

“It is the brutal brutality that will challenge most viewers, fascinating some and repulsing others. No one can be blamed for not wanting what these scenes are selling: depictions of victims (some compassionate and completely innocent, others delightfully goofy) being transformed into piles of flesh as slowly and meticulously as possible by a demonic serial killer taking chaotic pleasure from your own work. The violence itself is stunning, and the effects in this film are truly jaw-dropping and sensory-challenging.

“Terrorizer” franchise. writer-director Damien Leone has already confirmed that there will be a “Terrifier 4,” which means “Terrifier 3” leaves some things up in the air. With that in mind, here are some unanswered questions about “Terrifier 3.”

What is Art the Clown's goal now?

In the first “Terrorizer” movie, it seemed like Art the Clown was some random psycho in a clown costume, killing for fun. And maybe that's what happened with this movie. But “Terrifier 2” added a supernatural element by bringing Art back from the dead. “Terrifier 3” continues this trend: art has once again been resurrected and now serves a demonic entity. This demon was represented by the child-like Little Pale Girl in “Terrifier 2”, while the demon then inhabited the body of Art's surviving victim, Victoria Heyes in “Terrifier 3”. However, at the end of “Terrifer 3”, the demon is defeated, which raises the question: what's next for Art? Will the demon be resurrected in “Terrifier 4” and continue working with Art? Or maybe everyone's favorite killer clown will attack himself? To be honest, we hope it's the latter – Art is a better character when he acts independently.

Is Art Clown immortal?

So we have to ask ourselves: Is Art the Clown even immortal at this point? Art has been killed many times and he keeps coming back. As mentioned above, Art's continued survival is due to demonic forces, but the question must be asked: can he ever be stopped? Sure, most horror slashers are more or less immortal, so filmmakers can continue to make sequels (just look at Freddy, Jason, and Chucky, three examples that come back over and over again despite their apparent deaths), and it seems that That's true. current case regarding the “Terrifier” series. But you have to wonder if there's an end game somewhere in sight. Will I ever be able to create a clown Really be stopped, or will he just come back again and again… and again? It seems that as long as audiences continue to crave more and more of Art's graphic violence, Art will live to kill another day.

Is Jonathan Shaw really dead?

The Terrifier series is known for its extreme gore and uncompromising violence. But an interesting thing happens in “Terrifier 3”: a major character seemingly dies off-screen. During the film's climactic scene, final girl Sienna Shaw (Lauren LaVera) is shown a bloody skull and is first led to believe that it belongs to her little cousin Gabbie (Antonella Rose). However, minutes later, a pair of glasses belonging to Sienna's younger brother, Jonathan (Elliot Fullam), are placed on the skull. The conclusion is clear: the skull belongs to Jonathan. Is that…? If we're being honest here, we have to say: yes, yes. It's quite obvious that writer-director Damien Leone avoided showing Jonathan's death just to better convey this twist. But because never really See Jonathan dies in the film, and there are bound to be people who wonder if this isn't some cruel trick played on Sienna and whether Jonathan might still be alive.

Will Sienna Shaw go to hell?

During the climactic scene of Terrifier 3, a literal gate to hell opens in the floor, swallowing Sienna's cousin Gabbie in the process. Sienna tries to save the baby, but ultimately fails. It's probably safe to assume that at some point in Terrifier 4, Sienna will go on a mission to rescue Gabbie. Which means that somehow Sienna will go to hell. Just How that remains to be seen, but it raises a lot of other questions (how easy is it to go to hell? And then how easy will it be to escape?). On the other hand, maybe Damien Leone will go in a completely different direction and leave Gabbie trapped in hell forever. After all, it wouldn't be the first time the franchise had done something cruel and shocking. But this is all just speculation. For now, we'll just have to wait and see what direction the “Terrifier” series takes.
