I don't know who needs to hear this, but Beetle juice It is, in fact, a film of beauty. It might not have perfect sorority girl hairstyles, an iconic beauty salon scene, or massive Clinique product placement like Legally Blonde. However, when it comes to the impact her main character has had on some of us trendy goth girls, Winona Ryder's Lydia Deetz is on par with Elle Woods. With her spiky, gelled bangs, ghostly paleness (the only time the wrong shade of foundation totally works), and funeral-ready strands, Lydia has been inspiring other “weird and unusual” girls for over 35 years.

But she's not alone – we also find unlikely beauty icons in her artsy redhead stepmother, Delia Deetz, the stunning blue-skinned receptionist, Miss Argentina, and, of course, the party-loving poltergeist himself, Beetlejuice. (No wonder makeup artist Ve Neill won an Oscar for the film!) In the recently released sequel, Beetle juiceOur favorite characters (along with new ones) continue to inspire our underworld beauty routines. If you have an unearthly desire to cut your bangs, the film's hair and makeup department head, Christine Blundell, updated Lydia's trademark bangs to look a little more modern and grown-out (but still very goth).

While you might not want the same pale, musty complexion as Michael Keaton's Beetlejuice look, his black and white stripes and green hair can easily be incorporated into eyeshadow looks or nail art. Change your hair color this fall and go red by Delia Deetz. As for Astrid, Lydia's daughter, played by Jenna Ortega, there's not much to copy except good skin. She wore almost no makeup, but was still pampered with “good creams.” (Unfortunately, there's no information available about Ortega's skin-care routine while filming.)

With Halloween just around the corner, there are a few looks from the film to try and replicate (especially the stitched skin of Delores, the soul-sucking jilted bride played by Monica Belluci). But on a regular day, there are still countless ways to add a little Beetlejuice to your beauty routine, thanks to several brand collaborations. NYX Cosmetics launched an incredible limited edition of 12 pieces Beetle juice collection, while Glamnetics launched five styles of Beetle juice– inspired press-on nails. Secret Deodorant even partnered with the film in a location highlighting the odor-fighting powers of Secret Whole Body Deodorant in the afterlife. (Although I would have killed for some kind of Beetle juice-themed deodorant. Sandworm seasoning? Peach possession? It's not too late yet, deodorants!)
