NFL injury tracker Week 6: Malik Nabers 'in the same spot' in concussion protocol, Anthony Richardson returns to practice

There is a good chance New York Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers will miss a second straight game with a concussion. The rookie remains in the “same spot” under concussion protocol, head coach Brian Daboll said Thursday.

Nabers missed last week's win over the Seattle Seahawks with an injury during the Week 4 game against the Dallas Cowboys. He still leads the NFL in receptions with 35 and is eighth in receiving yards with 386.

Nabers isn't the only injury problem for the Giants. Linebacker Kayvon Thibodeau is undergoing wrist surgery week after week to repair a broken scaphoid bone. There is no timetable for his return to the lineup, and the team is unsure whether it will be necessary to place him on injured reserve.

The Indianapolis Colts could get their QB1 back this Sunday against the Tennessee Titans.

Anthony Richardson was included on the list of full participants in Thursday's training sessions. He suffered an oblique injury against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 4 and his performance in that game was deemed questionable.

Richardson said this week he feels much better than he did last week.

“Obviously when I'm dealing with injuries, no one wants to be on the sidelines, but I work with the coaches every day,” Richardson said. “I come here in the morning and make sure everything is OK, and I'm also in the film room and the conference room making sure I'm prepared if I'm playing.”

One player who definitely won't play for the Colts is Jonathan Taylor, who will miss his second straight game with a high ankle sprain.

The ankle injury involves the same ankle that has bothered Taylor in the past. According to reports, his condition is not that serious, but it is unclear how much longer he will be gone.

While Justin Fields plans to start again for the Steelers this week against the Las Vegas Raiders, Russell Wilson is closer to returning.

This week, the experienced playmaker trained with the team after suffering a calf injury.

“I'm sure I'll be ready to play… and at a high level,” Wilson said. “I think we're really smart too, and we try to understand exactly how I feel.”

Wilson did not play this season and served only as the emergency quarterback, not Fields' backup. Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said there are things Wilson would have to prove before he could be considered active against the Titans, but “the door is ajar.”
