McDonald's fans will be in for a real treat next week. The fast food giant is not only returning the cult classic McRibale. The chain's menu is also undergoing a thorough modernization.
Every six weeks some of the items are swapped and this will happen again on October 16.
Starting Wednesday, fans will no longer be able to obtain the so-called Philly Cheese Stack or Chicken Big Mac. Instead, the McCrispy Deluxe will be joining the lineup along with the McRib (while supplies last).
Several other fan favorites return Halloweenincluding toffee apple pie, a seasonal M&M's McFlurryand Galaxy Caramel McFlurry (£1.59 for the mini version or £2.19 for the full size).
But that's not all, several brand new items will be released this week including new Cheese Bites, Toasted Marshmallow Latte (£2.59) i hot chocolate with Marshmallow toast (£2.19, only available in size Large). Plus Mini Hash Browns they join the breakfast menu (£1.49 for a single portion).
The new hot drinks feature roasted marshmallow-flavored syrup and are topped with whipped cream and a sprinkle of roasted marshmallows.
The new Cheese Bites differ from previous versions in that they contain Mozzarella and Emmental cheese coated with smoked caramelized onions and served with BBQ dip. They are available as five (£2.49) or as a sharebox (£6.79).
The cake (£1.99), which first appeared on the market last autumn, consists of a crispy pastry filled with spiced apple compote, toffee sauce and toffee pieces.
Speaking of sweets, the M&M's Halloween McFlurry (£1.59 for a mini or £2.19 for a full size) consists of soft-serve milk ice cream mixed with M&M's and Halloween-shaped candies, topped with Galaxy chocolate sauce.
Burger fans will want to get their hands on the McRib quickly, which is expected to sell out very soon after its re-launch (fans have been waiting 9 years for its return). The pork, barbecue sauce, pickles and onion sandwich will cost £4.49 on its own or £6.19 as part of a medium meal.
Alternatively, chicken lovers can order McCrispy Delxue for the next six weeks. This fan-favorite burger is a crispy breaded chicken breast fillet with spicy and spicy mayonnaise, caramelized onion compote, seasonal lettuce, bacon, red onion and a slice of cheddar cheese. This is all then wrapped in a sourdough bun and costs £5.99 (or £7.79 for a medium meal).
This comes after McDonald's unveiled its brand new lunchtime meal deal that costs just £5.
As part of the deal you can choose between a Cheeseburger or Chicken Mayoa then you will also receive medium fries, a medium carbonated soft drink and a portion of four Chicken McNuggets for a fixed price.
The deal saves you almost £2.50 compared to buying all the items separately and you can get four Nuggets which are not usually available to buy separately.
Maccies says it's not just about 'value for money', it's a 'truly unique' offering.
McDonald's customers will be able to take advantage of the offer in restaurants covered by the promotion from 11:00. However, the problem is that you have to go to the restaurant to pick it up as it is not available for delivery.
It's perhaps the closest to a 'grown-up' Happy Meal we can get in the UK, and customers are desperate for the chain to sell it here, after a version was recently launched in Spain to mark the 30th anniversary of the TV series Friends.
Each Happy Meal box is decorated with a friends theme, and yes, the toys are based on characters. Maccies fans can collect little figures of Rachel, Phoebe, Monica, Chandler, Joey and Ross.
When it comes to food, Happy Meals for adults include a burger of your choice, as well as fries and a drink. And since this is McDonald's Spain, there are a few burger options that we don't have here, such as the CBO (chicken burger with crispy bacon, crispy onion, cheese, lettuce and creamy CBO pepper sauce) and the McRoyal Delux (the only beef burger on the menu with tomato). Alternatively, you can opt for classics like the Big Mac or Quarter Pounder.
If all this wasn't exciting enough, the box also includes a limited edition sauce. “Monica's Marinara” was created specifically for the collaboration, and although there is no “special sauce” description, marinara is typically made with tomatoes, garlic, herbs and onions.
