Maggie Beer has given her fans a health update almost two months after she was rushed to hospital after a terrifying fall at her Barossa Valley home.

The celebrity chef, 79, posted a video on Instagram on Friday saying he is slowly recovering and hopes to be back to normal soon.

'The support I've had from the whole community, from all over Australia, from friends and family, I've been so grateful and overwhelmed,' Maggie began.

'I've come this far, but I underestimated the severity of the injuries, so even though I'd love to tell you how good I feel now, I still have a way to go.'

Maggie thanked her fans and said that their continued support and well wishes will help her through this difficult time.

'I will make a full recovery, and part of that is the care and love I've been given.'

Many of Maggie's celebrity friends quickly took to the comments section to wish her a speedy recovery.

'We love you Maggie' wrote celebrity coach Michael Bridges and MasterChef Australia veteran Gary Mehigan added: 'Take care we are all thinking of you.'

Maggie is a celebrity chef, author and recipient of the Order of Australia in 2012 for her contributions to the restaurant, food and tourism industry.

She was best known as one of the judges of The Great Australian Bake Off alongside Matt Moran until she left in 2022.

Maggie co-hosted the ABC television cooking show The Cook and the Chef with Simon Bryant and appeared as a guest on MasterChef Australia.
