New picture from Abstract season 2 reveals the on-screen reunion of Jensen Ackles and Justin Hartley. The series is based on the best-selling novel by Jeffrey Deaver Game Never. In the first season, Colter Shaw, played by Hartley, a survivalist and tracker for hire, deals with dangerous cases while discovering the truth about his family's past. Ackles first portrayed Colter's estranged brother Russell in the penultimate episode of Season 1. It was later confirmed that he would return to Abstract season 2
Now in Peopleexclusive first look Tracking sseason 2, Ackles' latest appearance as Russell was revealed. The publication featured a photo of Ackles and Hartley in the upcoming season, which seems to be on the cards two brothers on screen are exploring something outdoors. Russell in particular looks surprised by what he sees. Check it out below:
Elsewhere, Hartley spoke about working with Ackles, praising him Supernatural star for the role of Russell. Hartley said:
Jensen and I have known each other for a long time, we just never had the opportunity to work together. Jensen is the perfect guy to play Russell. He's a very well-developed character in the book, and even more so compared to what we did on the show.
And then Jensen just takes it to the next level.
Additionally revealed by showrunner Elwood Reid Ackles will appear in “more than one“episode IN Abstract season 2. However, the exact number has not been revealed yet.
What does this mean for Tracker's second season?
This season is something of a reunion between Hartley and Ackles, with both having previously appeared Smallvillewhere Hartley played Oliver Queen/Green Arrow and Ackles played Jason Teague. However, they never actually shared scenes together. Hartley first hinted at Ackles returning to Abstract during the 2024 Television Critics Association press tour in July, saying, “We have it; he's coming back.“Russell's involvement is indicative Abstract Season 2 looks to continue the stories established in Season 1and that he can still be a major returning player.
The end Abstract Season 1, which involved Colter discovering some information about his father and siblings, promises Russell's exciting return in Season 2. While it seems likely that his arrival will tie into the storyline surrounding his family and Colter, his first episode of Season 2 will feature in plus a fascinating plot. Will appear in episode 2“Ontological Shock”, which will be broadcast on Sunday, October 20. In this episode, Colter goes missing while searching for his missing father, and Reenie (Fiona Rene) calls on Russell for help.

There are exciting dynamics ahead
Ackles and Hartley meeting in Tracking sseason 2 will give the show new energy and dynamics. This is likely due to their long-standing friendship and willingness to work together they will have a natural chemistry that will only enhance their on-screen dynamic. This season will likely see more exciting action scenes and deeper character development, as well as plot twists, emotional depth and more dramatic confrontations. Additionally, it seems Abstract has big plans for Russell and it will be exciting to see what happens next for his character.
Abstract The second season premieres on October 13.
