Casa Bonita, the Lakewood, Colorado, restaurant that was saved from closure by the creators of the TV show “South Park,” recently reopened its reservation system after thousands of people made reservations in its first few months.
Reservations for December opened on October 7.
There was no availability information on the website until October 10.
The restaurant also modified its menu – removing some items and adding dips to complementary chips, multiple Denver-area news outlets reported.

Casa Bonita's revival can be credited to “South Park” creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone.
In 2015, Casa Bonita was recognized as a Lakewood, Colorado landmark. But by 2020, the restaurant's days seemed numbered, due in part to the coronavirus pandemic. The restaurant closed in March 2020, and its owner filed for bankruptcy a year later.
Parker and Stone, who appeared in a 2003 episode of South Park's “Casa Bonita,” purchased it in 2021, according to the restaurant's website.
In the episode, the character Kyle Broroflovski refers to Casa Bonita this way: “Like the Disneyland of Mexican restaurants.”
“Parker and Stone have many memories of visiting Casa Bonita as children, and this restaurant means a lot to them,” reads the Casa Bonita website.

The restaurant underwent a major renovation at a total cost of $40 million. The documentary “¡Casa Bonita Mi Amor!” 2024 chronicles the couple's efforts to rebuild the restaurant.
Casa Bonita opened in May 2023. Only members of the Founders Club, which calls itself “the most prestigious club in the world composed exclusively of Casa Bonita's first supporters,” were able to make reservations until September 2024.
At the time, thousands of people were waiting in an online queue to receive reservations, the Denverite website reported, and reservations for October and November were booked within minutes.

The only remaining location is Casa Bonita in Colorado.
The chain opened its first Casa Bonita location in 1968 in Oklahoma City, according to the restaurant's website. Other locations were established in Tulsa, Oklahoma and Little Rock, Arkansas.

Casa Bonita offers entertainment not typically found in a dining establishment, including cliff diving, a puppet show, mariachi music and “so much more,” according to its website.

Unlike traditional restaurants, Casa Bonita charges a fixed price for lunch and dinner, although it is possible to pay a little more for “premium meals” near the cliff divers.
Anyone aged 13-200 can choose from nine main courses, all of which are served with a salad of rice, beans and cabbage.
Chips, salsa, soda and “ours”. the famous sopaipillas” are also included in the price of each meal, according to the restaurant, although alcoholic drinks and other desserts are sold à la carte.
