Trump vs Harris Round 2? Voters in key GA counties declare whether they want a second debate

Marietta, Ga. – Americans living in the Atlanta suburbs appear to have little appetite for another prime-time showdown between former President Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris.

“If you don’t already know them, there’s no hope,” said a man who declined to give his name to Fox News Digital last week in Acworth, Georgia.

Election Day is less than a month away and Georgia residents are preparing to vote early in their state next week.

Not an insignificant amount of that support came from Cobb County, Georgia, where Biden won by a larger margin than he did statewide.

And like Biden and Trump in 2020, the former president and Harris only had one debate.

Trump refused to appear for a second Harris and colleagues interested in another face-off.

But people in Cobb County who spoke to Fox News Digital seemed uneasy about the prospect of a second debate.

“I really don’t think so,” responded Howard Sagan, who spoke to Fox News Digital outside a Marietta Whole Foods, when asked if Americans needed another debate. “I don’t think Trump is a very good debater. And I think (Harris) is an empty man.”

“I know most of it is staged anyway, so I don’t mind the controversies,” Scott said.

“He doesn’t say anything, it’s a word salad. So what is the point of the debate? He can’t even answer questions,” said Deb, a woman who opposes Harris.

Meanwhile, a Marietta man named Tolley said he would “honestly” see another debate, but sees little value in the exercise.

“It doesn’t really matter at this point because people will have their own opinions no matter what they do,” Tolley said. “Maybe 20 years ago we had debates where people watched, they were taken to the screen trying to find out what their opinion was. But now it's so polarized. Because of social media and everything, people can find out what your opinion is about a candidate…day.”
