Why I Think Mason Chose Scott Over Kourtney (And How Things Changed So Much)

I discovered the secrets of why Mason changed so much and became a private person. Yes, he still appears in posts with his father, but as for Kourtney, he is quite camera shy. Mason grew up in the spotlight. He is a bright and sweet child who wants more privacy. He looks like his mom, but has plenty of his dad's light and airy charm. Likewise Scott, who lightens the mood, but has his own problems. Every parent has flaws – no parent is perfect. So why did Mason decide to live with his father Scott and leave his mother? Children crave stability – most of them thrive on routine. Mason has become accustomed to life with Scott and Kourtney. Later he stayed in the homes of both his parents. Kourtney loved Scott, but she had changed, and when he tried to win her back, she told him he had to meet certain criteria before that could happen. Apparently he would never be able to do that.

Kourtney commits to relationships. She loved Scott, but then she gave up. When she started dating Travis, the ultra-romantic Kourtney came to life. She believed in the fairy tale again, even though Scott had deceived her, partyed for revenge, and lied to her. Kourtney wants a fairy tale – she didn't want to settle for Scott who could never give her one. The thing is, Travis isn't really that different from Scott. He cheated on his beauty queen wife Shanna Moakler – he cheated on her A LOT.

So Kourtney went from one bad boy to another. It's okay – that's her type and it's very hard to get over things like this. A person is practically programmed to like a certain type of person. It may not even be under their control. However, the key difference is that bad boy Scott is Mason's father, while bad boy Travis is not.

So far, their marriage seems happy. That's until Kourtney finds something suspicious on Travis' phone A woman comes out of the woodwork, sharing memories of her steamy encounter with Kourtney's husband. The best case scenario is that Travis is no longer a serial cheater.

So Mason has a father he loves. His father lives alone. Mason has a mother he loves – his mother lives with a man Mason clearly doesn't love. Mason may not like Travis, but he could. For some reason he rejects a blended family. What has changed? This was Travis entering his world. Travis has changed Mason's reality, and the boy must miss the current state of affairs. This is very sad. Mason seems to much prefer the status quo of living with one or both parents to the step-parent dynamic, which can be troublesome for many reasons.

I believe Mason doesn't want to get close to Travis because his father, Scott, still loves Kourtney. This means that Travis is a thorn in Scott's side… someone he considers a rival. However, Kourtney, like no one else, made a choice. She won't change her mind until circumstances pull her out of her romantic fantasy. If this happens, she will find another man who will give her a fairy-tale experience. It probably won't be Scott.

Mason tries to be loyal to his father. He may feel more at ease with his dad, who has Peter Pan syndrome. Scott grows up very slowly, at the pace of a sloth. Dressed in dark and bold outfits, she suddenly becomes a rock chick. It will take on its partner's color, being almost absorbed by that person.

Mason may see an amber alert – maybe he has a bad feeling about Travis. He may believe that he is not the right man for his mother. Mason may be jealous of the couple's son, Rocky. He may be sick with True romance pet names, cosplay and French kissing in public.

At his age – 14 – parents are naturally a source of shame. He's a teenager now, and Kourtney and Travis' relationship can sometimes gross him out. He feels like the whole world is watching as his mom kisses Travis. How does it feel? Not good.

On the other hand, cunning con artist Scott lures Mason away, no doubt encouraging his son to come live with him. Scott really loves his children – these types of cold wars are common after divorce. There is nothing unusual about what is happening here. The only difference is that the adults (I use that term loosely) are famous.

Mason must experiment with life. Must feel comfortable at home. He's old enough to make a choice, and because Kourtney loves her son so much, she'll let him go if that's what she wants. This is true love. So no one should worry – Kourtney loves Mason as much as ever, if not more. Letting someone go so they can be happy is perhaps the purest expression of love there is and the most challenging thing.

Mason can go back to his mother. There's a strange melancholy about Scott – there's something about him that makes him sad. He has a demon he can't defeat. Even surrounded by wealth, fans and children, he sometimes looks forlorn. This may be because Scott lost his parents and Kourtney. It could be something else – he has struggled with addiction in the past. If Mason comes back, Kourtney will love him and take care of him like she always did.

So no one should worry about Mason. He has two parents who love him. He has the right to live with whomever he wants. It's up to him. He's tired of the spotlight and it's time to give him space and privacy. He deserves some semblance of a typical childhood. If he finds this in his father, the move will be best.
