EastEnders' sordid scandal as legend's affair is discovered – by his own ex

The following article contains spoilers for an episode of EastEnders that hasn't aired on BBC One yet, but is available to view on BBC iPlayer.

Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) and Junior Knight's (Micah Balfour) affair has finally been uncovered in EastEnders – by the one and only David Wicks (Michael French).

David returned to Walford at the end of last week to see his daughter Bianca (Patsy Palmer). She has been struggling with her mental health for months, so friend Kat (Jessie Wallace) called David, hoping he could help.

Returning to his old home after so many years was never going to be an easy task, but David certainly didn't expect to bump into two residents who were presumed dead the last time he was in Albert Square.

One of them was his ex Cindy. Yesterday, David was surprised to discover that Cindy and Ian (Adam Woodyatt) were still together and realized he had a lot to catch up on when the Horsemen were mentioned.

In tonight's episode, David thought he would kill two birds with one stone by talking to Bianca, but he would also try to get close to Cindy again. He instructed his daughter to meet him for lunch at Beale's Eels, where Cindy was working.

As they sat down, Bianca talked about her mental health and said she could have ADHD or depression. She still seemed adamant that what she was feeling was just a “point,” so David continued to remind her of the importance of speaking to a doctor and getting help.

As this happened, Ian became increasingly irritated by David's presence. Feeling somewhat paranoid, Ian told Cindy to kiss him, unaware that David wasn't the problem – the man behind Cindy was.

Junior entered the restaurant looking for Cindy, who didn't keep much contact after the engagement.

That night, however, she quickly fell back into her old ways.

Ian and Cindy were holding their engagement party at the pub and said everyone was welcome. As the event began, David said an emotional goodbye to Bianca after revealing that he needed to leave for business reasons.

Bianca told her father she would seek help for her mental health and couldn't help but shed a few tears when she saw her father leave again.

While wandering around the square, David decided to go to the pub for a drink before leaving.

He ended up confronting Junior after learning that he had slept with Bianca when he arrived. David accused Junior of taking advantage of his daughter, and they ended up fighting when Junior made a comment about Bianca's despair.

At the side of the pub, Cindy found Junior. He – surprisingly – talked about the prospect of turning their affair into something more, but Cindy considered that a stable relationship was not Junior's strong suit.

Right on cue, Junior and Cindy started kissing as soon as David left the pub. He heard the noise, took a few steps back and found his ex cheating on his brother.

Oh dear.

It looks like David won't be leaving Albert Square just yet.
