Best X-Bow Decks In Clash Royale

Quick Links

In Clash Royale, you either hate X-Bow or love it; there’s no middle ground. This siege troop can snipe down the enemy tower and troops from your side of the arena, much like a Mortar. Although X-Bow is still a strong win condition in the current meta, it’s not an auto-win like most players think.

Mastering an X-Bow deck requires careful strategy, understanding card interaction, and keeping track of your opponent’s elixir and card cycle. But of course, building a solid deck comes first, and that’s where we’ll lend a helping hand. In this guide, we’ll discuss some of the best X-Bow decks you should check out in Clash Royale.

Here are the top three X-Bow decks that you should play in Clash Royale:

  • 3.0 X-bow Cycle
  • Ice Bow Nado
  • Musketeer Pump-Bow

You’ll find more information about these decks below.

3.0 X-Bow Cycle

clash-royale-3.0-x-bow

The classic 3.0 X-Bow Cycle is still a strong deck in today’s meta. This deck has a high skill ceiling, requiring players to know when to get offensive and when to buckle down for defense. Having a good idea of your opponent’s cycle and keeping track of their X-Bow counters is also essential if you want to win with this deck.

Here are the cards you’ll need for the 3.0 X-Bow Cycle deck:

Card Name

Elixir Cost

Evo Knight

3

Evo Tesla

4

Skeletons

1

Ice Spirit

1

Archers

2

The Log

2

Fireball

4

X-Bow

6

Skeletons and Ice Spirit are two 1-elixir cards that offer a lot of outplay potential if you know how to use them. You can also place the Ice Spirit on the bridge, forcing your opponent to choose between defending or taking some nice chip damage. The damage output of Archer is still decent, even after all the nerfs. As for your mini-tank, Evo Knight is the perfect low-cost card for the deck.

Because of all these cheap cards, you can cycle through your deck quickly to get to your X-Bow. For your second Evo, go with Evo Tesla. It’s still one of the strongest Evolution cards in Clash Royale, allowing you to stop big pushes from Golem or other high HP win conditions without any trouble.

Even when you play perfectly, getting locks with an X-Bow is sometimes impossible against certain beatdown decks. That’s when you’ll pull out your spell combo of Fireball and The Log. Combining these two spells lets you deal close to 400 damage each time you use it on the enemy tower. Keep cycling your spells on the enemy tower to chip away at its health in bad matchups.

Tower Princess is the best Tower Troop for this deck.

Ice Bow Nado

clash-royale-ice-bow-nado

The Ice Bow Nado is one of the most popular X-Bow decks in Clash Royale. With the recent buff to Ice Wizard, this deck is becoming a common sight on the ladder. It’s an easy deck to play as long as you know how to keep track of your opponent’s cycle.

Here are the cards you’ll need for the deck:

Card Name

Elixir Cost

Evo Knight

3

Evo Tesla

4

Skeletons

1

The Log

2

Tornado

3

Ice Wizard

3

X-Bow

6

Rocket

6

For new players who want to try out the X-Bow cycle, Ice Bow Nado is a solid deck to start with. It has good defense and gives you a secondary win condition with the Rocket. So, if the opponent keeps blocking your X-Bow and taking it down before it locks onto the tower, you can still win by Rocket cycling in the late game.

This deck uses the same Evo combo as the classic 3.0 X-Bow cycle, with the Evo Knight as the mini-tank and Evo Tesla as the big anti-push. You also have the Ice Wizard to slow down the opponent’s troops. While you’ll use it mostly for defense, it also works great at protecting your X-Bow if you get a lock.

The combo of Tornado and Rocket is another strong point for this deck. If the enemy has a lot of troops on the field, you can use Tornado to clump them together, and Rocket will clean them up. You can also use it to spell-cycle if you’re not getting a lock with the X-Bow.

Ice Bow Nado works best with Dagger Duchess Tower Troop.

Musketeer Pump Bow

For X-Bow players, keeping track of elixirs and building up an elixir lead often means victory in the late game. The original Pump Bow deck uses Archer Queen, but since the champion isn’t as good in the current meta, swapping it out with the Musketeer makes more sense.

Here are all the cards you’ll want to use in the Musketeer Pump Bow deck:

Card Name

Elixir Cost

Evo Skeletons

1

Evo Knight

3

Fire Spirit

1

Ice Spirit

1

The Log

2

Musketeer

4

Elixir Collector

6

X-Bow

6

With both the Ice Spirit and Fire Spirit in the deck, you can cycle through this deck extremely fast. But for much of the early game, this deck requires you to focus on defense, using your cheap cards to take as little damage as possible on your towers. Since you don’t have a defensive building, you must be precise with your card placement and timing.

Clash Royale: Complete Electro Dragon Evo Guide

This detailed guide will cover everything players need to know about the ongoing Electro Dragon Evo event in Clash Royale.

Your goal is to get as many Elixir Collectors on the field as possible during the single elixir stage. If your opponent has a Void or Earthquake, you’ll want to bait out those spells with your X-Bow. Put an Elixir Collector behind your tower once those spells are out of cycle. As you enter the double elixir stage, it will be time to attack.

With the elixir lead you’ll inevitably build up from the Collectors, you can start cycling X-Bow left and right to force your opponent to keep defending. Eventually, your X-Bow will get a lock, and you’ll win the game off of that. Use your Evo Prince to tank for the X-Bow and Musketeer to snipe out enemy troops from a distance.

How To Play X-Bow Decks In Clash Royale

clash-royale-x-bow-tips

Here are a couple of essential tips to keep in mind if you plan on using X-Bow decks in Clash Royale:

  • X-Bow decks require a careful approach. Don’t rush in with your X-Bow unless you’ve out-cycled their main defense or have an elixir lead.
  • For defense, cycle your defensive troops like Tesla, Archers, or Ice Wizard early to get back to a second one if needed.
  • Don’t start spell-cycling without damaging the towers first. Use spell cards only when you know your opponent won’t be able to punish you.
  • Use a Tesla or Knight at the bridge to block the opponent’s troops from hitting your X-Bow.
  • Once you get a tower, don’t try to force a second tower. Instead, go for defensive X-Bows and buckle down for defense. Most X-Bow decks focus on getting a single crown victory.
  • Be careful when using X-Bow against the Monk and the new Goblinstein champion card. Its ability can fully counter an X-Bow.
  • You don’t have to take the opponent’s tower to win the game. Your win is secured as long as you defend well and keep a damage lead.

X-Bow is one of the oldest cards in Clash Royale, and while it has been nerfed a lot over the years, it’s still a solid win condition today. For players who enjoy a slow, methodical playstyle and like to outplay their opponents, these X-Bow decks are definitely worth a try.
