Pokemon TCG Surging Sparks Brings The Spectacle Of The Terarium To The Battlefield

The Pokemon Company has released a preview of their latest card game set. The Scarlet & Violet-themed set, Pokemon TCG Surging Sparks, is packed with new cards themed around the Terarium – the artificial biome environment from the recent games – and several new Stellar Tera Pokemon cards.

According to an official press release, Pokemon TCG Surging Sparks is packed with new Stellar form Pokemon. These include new Dragon-type cards like Alolan Exeggutor ex, Latias ex, and Archlaludon ex. Stellar Tera Pikachu ex tops off these powerhouses with its Topaz Bolt attack.

Pokemon TCG Surging Sparks contains the following noteworthy cards:

  • 8 ACE SPEC Cards
  • 8 Stellar Tera Pokemon ex and 9 Tera Pokemon ex Cards
  • 23 Illustration Rare Pokemon Cards
  • 11 Special Illustration Rare Pokemon and Supporter Cards
  • 6 Hyper Rare Gold Etched Cards

As with all prior sets, Pokemon TCG Surging Sparks‘ retail release will include booster packs, Elite Trainer Boxes, and a special collection at Pokemon Centers and select retailers. All of these products will be available November 8.

As part of the Play! Pokemon program, players attending prerelease tournaments can play with the new set early. Those tournaments will be held at independent retailers on October 26.

Players that can’t make it to these prerelease tournaments can enjoy the new Pokemon TCG Surging Sparks cards on the official Pokemon TCG Live app one day before its retail release. Players can collect and battle with the new Stellar Tera ex Pokemon cards and receive in-game bonuses when logging in.

Lastly, select retailers will provide special promo cards created in collaboration with the Pokemon: Horizons anime. The cards will feature protagonists Liko and Roy alongside their Pokemon partners.

A Sprigatito card will be available Nov. 15 through Dec. 15. A Fuecoco card will be available Dec. 15 through Jan. 15. Lastly, a Terapogos and Friends card will be available Jan. 15 through Feb. 15. All of these cards will be included at no additional cost with a purchase while supplies last.
