Wright Flyer Studios has announced the latest title it is introducing to its hit JRPG, Another Eden: The Cat Beyond Time and Space, and it is one I was not expecting. The King of Fighters – part of SNK’s iconic fighting series – will feature in this Symphony Event, kicking off on August 22nd.
Whilst traipsing around the space-time continuum, Another Eden protagonist Aldo receives an interesting invitation, bidding him to, “Win the tournament, and save the world”. He and his friends are then teleported to the world of The King Of Fighters to continue their world-saving ways.
During this event, you will team up with characters such as Terry Bogard, Kyo Kusanagi, Mai Shiranui, and Kula Diamond, experiencing a branching story featuring all four. You can also recruit them for use in the event and the wider game. You will need to clear chapter 13 to unlock the whole Another Bout event, however.
More than just bringing in this world and characters, Another Bout also introduces new combat mechanics. Taking inspiration from KoF, you will pick a team of three characters to go through a series of 1v1 battles against enemy teams. Your skills will be replaced with Command inputs, which must be chained correctly to whip out some Special Moves.
Go through the motions enough and you will fill up that blue gauge, which will reward you with MAX MODE when full. In this state, you can unleash some devastating Super Special Moves, enough to knock anyone on their back. Or, at least, almost anyone, because Rugal is awaiting you at the end, and he is no pushover.
Another Eden: The Cat Beyond Time and Space is available to download from the App Store and Google Play. Until September 30th you can nab yourself 1,000 Chronos Stones by starting the event, and new players can pick up another 1,000 to give you a headstart.
